Yes, it would make fights where it does happen much more exciting, especially if it were a hard battle.

It's the one thing the anime got right. The only problems I see with it are the changing HP stat and being able to cancel the evolution. We know the HP stat can change mid-battle now, so hopefully next gen.

HP stats could always change mid battle. Whenever someone gains a level and their HP increases their HP increases mid battle.

I say take it all the way and let me use evolutionary stones in battle.

I was just thinking about this the other day. It'd make a battle really exciting honestly.

While we're at it, make it so a pokemon levels up all at once, and not going through every single level. This isn't gen 1 anymore, they can have the move learning prompt appear for all the moves after the levelup

I was going to suggest this too

There isn't much difference between beating a pokemon and evolving and finishing the entire fight and evolving. What would be cool is the ability to evolve mid fight with a specific tough pokemon, like a gym leader's ace. In special trainer's sometimes time their pokemon's evolution to happen mid battle with a tough pokemon as a kind of free full restore and power up. That could work in game against super bosses like totem pokemon but I doubt they would introduce it now.

I think Mega evolution should be earned, not activated at will. A meter fills up as you battle, then you can evolve and attack for dramatic effect
