I think people are more accepting of pseudoscience because they're hard to find in most games and you've to work hard leveling them up to get them to their final stage, where as you can throw a master ball at Entei, Zapdos and sometimes they're handed to you like Latios and Suicaine

I had a friend way back when that got very assmad over legendaries. Funny thing was that during gen 4 they got assmad over rotom as well since it used the legendaries encounter theme for its battle, thus in his mind it was a legendary.
