No because things don't add up. For example all the female protagonists exist in the anime and their stories are completely different from the games. The games and anime are 2 separate universes.

Do you see why this won't work? Sina and Dexio even reference XY's plot in one of the trailers, mentioning the five Kalos heroes.

Animefag here. This is clearly just an anime marketing tie-in with the games, the Ash-Greninja stuff is blatant anime copy-paste. It's not meant to be taken seriously, just like with the Spiky-Eared Pichu in HGSS.

We got Ash's Pikachu as an event pokemon for years and no one gives a shit so why are people complaining now?
