That's the most likely scenario, they explicitly mention A-Sandslash being slower and bulkier.
A-Exeggutor is most likely a Physical Attacker instead of a Special Attacker, and I feel A-Marowak is going to be faster in exchange for its Defense, it might possibly be a better Special Attacker as well.
