I like it because it takes a region that is nice to explore, make some small changes that make playing it more pleasant. The progression is nice (only game with a better progression level wise is BW2 in my experience). It expands on the dex by including all the pokémon DP should have had and then some more (without going full retard size dex like Kalos), changes up several trainers in the process so the game feels more fresh and (slightly) different than DP. It keeps the overall atmosphere and music from DP, and I'm overall fond of the visual style.

It has a better frontier than Emerald in my opinion, but I can see why people would disagree with that. I would love to see a gen VII battle roulette with stuff like triple battles, rotation battles, inverse battle etc. etc. as additions.

Pretty much this, but I disagree with you on the Kalos Dex. One of that games biggest strengths is the sheer variety of mons you can choose from.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with having more options in my opinion.

Unless you grind, everything is like 5 levels above your team at all times, if an opponent's pokemon can confuse yours it absolutely will, the opponent's chance of a critical hit feels way too high, it's very difficult to train and level up your mons because anything (even a mon like 7 levels below yours) can pull some OHKO shit out of it's ass on a dime, and even then the EXP yield is tiny as fuck, ect.
I'm currently on Iron Island trying to get a Yanma to evolve so my team will be fully evolved, but the little fuck keeps dying to trivial shit. I'm fucking bouncing off the motherfucking walls with rage rn.

Thats a good thing retard. It makes the game more difficult. Think a strategy to win. The opponent's never switch and have shit AI and if you don't play on Set then you even get to know what Pokemon they're going to switch out into and you get infinite items while your opponents get 2 maximum. If anything, they should be on even higher levels than you to even out with all the advantages you get as a player.

I don't know. Sinnohfags always call it comfy, but personally I just found it tedious and slow. I was annoyed by Barry and didn't like many of the new mons, or the backtracking, the story and region didn't really grab me either.
It might have just been due to my all time low interest in Pokémon at the time though, never played DP and basically stopped playing Pt shortly before they thrust that Riolu egg into your hands and only actually finished the game a few months ago because I wanted to trade up my old shinies to bank.
It wasn't really hard or engaging then either though. After all that I heard on here I thought Cynthia would rip me a new one, especially because I was underleveled, but she wasn't actually all that bad, maybe it was just because I had my own Garchomp though. I honestly hope that remakes will make me actually like the region. Otherwise all the Sinnoh love and the excessive use of the word comfy in combination with it will forever feel to me like the genwunning of 20 year olds.

DP were so clunky slow and alot of the new evos were actually locked until the N-dex or post main game.

i can't go back to D/P after playing plat and above it's so mindnumbing in how slow it is in general.

DP has:

Slow as fuck surfing (thankfully you only need surf to progress only a few times any futher use is for items.

messing with the boxed pokemon causes the longest save time in the series.

gen 4 battle animations are also insanely long and it still has the gen 3 style weather reminder that plays a animation every turn to remind you of weather unlike gen 5 and above that only play the weather animation once and has a reminder somewhere on the bottom screen instead of always doing a animation.

D/P also shafts you in fire type selection if you don't pick the fire starter you only have access to ponyta line.
