I think its definitely going to be in the low-mid 100s. 46 Pokemon revealed, another 10-20 evos for said Pokemon, 3 Tapus we haven't seen yet, Marshadow, and the fossil Pokemon all bump the total to around Kalos' total, no way are they keeping from us just evos, expected legendaries and Pokemon, there has to be a good amount of surprises, Kalos had a good 10-15 families unrevealed.

I love XY's cast, but damn. It's extremely tiny.

I feel like the roster of new Pokes is going to be low, though, since they're throwing these alt forms of Pokes in the region. I don't mind alt forms of old Pokes, I think it's an amazing idea, I just don't want them to take the slot of a new Pokemon in a new area.

I bet they're going to go in the direction where they will start introducing only ~70 new pokemon ever game. There's no point to having 140 or whatever, because then you get a ton of filler and PU shit. I'd rather have 70 new pokemon where every one of them has some interesting new ability/niche, which almost all new sun/moon pokemon so far have had.

This is also healthy for the series in the long run, because you can't keep animating and balancing for 1400 pokemon

They are probably going to start doing more of the alola form kinda stuff in the future. Maybe something like introduce an artificial region where pokemon from different regions are migrated to and they develop different forms. So something like a generation with literally 0 new pokemon, only pokemon from older gens with different forms. Because I agree it's going to be hectic for them to keep making new mons.

Having to put up with my friends bitching every other day about it, is something I do have an issue with.

I hope GF actually makes the new Pokemon the focus of Alola. A large amount of previous gen mon's are fine, but they should balance it out with a large amount of new mon's.
