What are your hopes for the brief final deito?

I just started watching XY and I dislike Clemont so much. He's likeable as a person but techno-wizardry has always annoyed me a little. It's fine in shows where that's a central or reoccurring main theme, like Dexter's Lab or Kim Possible, but it seems kind of out-of-place in Pokemon. Team Rocket's endless well of mechas kind-of fits the same theme and for some reason I don't mind that, but Clemont bothers me a lot.
