So I thought it'd be cool if I could just finish it and drop it all finished, but I've decided it's probably better to post my progress and see what you guys think and go from there, I feel I can grow more that way.
First off: Do the colors work for you?
Is there enough happening or too much happening?

Also note, I realize both characters need to be blended in with the storm & lights around them, I just find it very hard and don't know how to go about it, some tips would be nice.

practice perspective and foreshortening a lot more. as of now her right arm looks like a baby arm. you already have a decent grasp of foreshortening because the staff looks pretty good but the character herself looks kinda jacked up.a general tip that applies to any artist is to constantly study anatomy all the time. good anatomy will help your piece tenfold.

Yeah, drawing arms with foreshortening without making them look weird is hard, but essential. (I really haven't even mastered it.) I notice the head looks a bit off; I'd recommend drawing the back of her head on the right side so it doesn't look as smooshed, if that makes sense.

Other than that and some anatomical kinks, it looks really polished and I can see the potential.
