i have never even used my favorite pokemon in-game. i like to use a variety of pokemon and in many generations it is difficult.

the requirement of using HMs also reduces the amount of choices that you have. if you were to look at the in-game teams of 1,000 players you would find some striking similarities that have no correlation to their specific pokemon preferences.

some pokemon are difficult to obtain and feasibly use while others are incredibly easy to obtain and incredibly easy to use.

Personally I think Lucario was a good idea for a mon with a quite flawed design, fortunately mega fixed a lot of these flaws.
