I got a shiny Lillipup during my first and only White 2 playthrough, near the first town. Good thing I stocked up on Pokéballs due to paranoia about meeting a shiny that early. Then I met a shiny Druddigon on Victory Road.

I've never been actively looking for shinies and I still got a Lumineon in Pearl and a Graveler in Y on my own.

I've only ever gotten a shiny Geodude and Ratatta from Silver, one remake, one original, Skarmory from Ruby, and Drilbur from Black. All my shinies ever. Only one worth while is Skarmory, but it aint special. Ran across a shiny Abra in Fire Red but of course it teleported...

Very first one was a Hoothoot in Gold.

Then a Wurmple in Emerald which I ended up taking to the league as Dustox since I thought shinies were stronger than their normal counterparts at the time.

Never found another. The two shinies I have now (Garchomp and Conkeldurr) were obtained over Wonder Trade. Also had a Wobuffet but I lost that one due to the data corrupting.

Only have the shiny Gyarados from HG. Only confirmed legit shiny I have ever had.

I've never gotten a shiny in the wild or wonder trade. My bro was nice enough to make me a shiny Vulpix back when the sites worked.

I saw a shiny Aron in Emerald a few days ago, and a shiny Oddish last night in Omega Ruby.

I've been playing since Red and Blue. Played Gold, Crystal, Ruby, FireRed, Diamond, SoulSilver, Black, Y, and Alpha Sapphire. I finished all of them and I've put 200 hours into Y. I've completed a living dex, hatched tons of eggs breeding good mons, even using a JP ditto when I didn't need to use a better one just in case. The only shiny I have ever found in the wild was a Skrelp I deliberately chain fished for in Y just to see how easy it was. It felt so insignificant I traded it for Xerneas.

If I don't find a real shiny in Moon without deliberately trying to get one, I am going to kill myself.

My first shiny was a Wailmer back in Gen 3. I'm partially colorblind so I didn't even notice the slight change in color and just saw the sparkle and thought it was cool. I used that thing till the end of the game. Good memories.

It wasn't really until Gen 4 when I stumbled upon a Shiny Roselia and noticed the very different colors that I realized what it actually meant. Made it feel special.

I've been playing for less than a month, maybe 150 hours between two games, and I have maybe a dozen shinies already. Most recent was a oddish that was part of a swarm in AS. Before that was Corsola and Octillery in X after fishing a couple trapped spots a dozen times each. The rest are randoms from wondertrade and one or two from a friend who's been playing for years and has duplicates.

No I have been played since the original games and have never once seen a shiny as a random encounter. Yes I know they started with gen 2 games, but shit that's a long time.

I don't count things like chain fishing and chaining, but I never really did those anyway. I have yet to encounter a single shiny in the course of any game(with at least 2 games+remake a gen and several hundred hours each game).
