What if they remake gen I again?

It should get a remake, but they really should rebalance how many HMs are needed to traverse Sinnoh. Needing them for non-essential areas is fine, but I shouldn't need a 5 HM party to get from one end of the map to the other.

Sinnoh is my favorite region since it feels the most like a real region, followed closely by Johto and Kanto, and then Hoenn. Unova and Kalos are way too theme park-y to seem real. The random deserts in both ruins it.

That's how I felt about Sinnoh. Every area was essentially filled with junk. Not to mention there were a few places locked off to events.

In addition to the environment that slowed you down either by walking speed in the swamp or snow or to use a HM it just killed any incentive to explore.

Sinnoh doesn't have a desert

Just based off of memory, the most notable differences between Platinum and D/P were the Pokedex expansion and the Distortion World/Giratina stuff.

So long as they keep the updated Pokedex, I'm set.The most tedious thing about Diamond and Pearl was that the engine was so terrible.That's inherently fixed even if they were to use XYs engine.

Sinnoh was pretty bland, I liked Unova better, all the cities and most of the routes and side areas feel unique and fun, it was much nicer to look at with the improved DS graphics, to boot.

Eh, I wouldn't call it big for the same reason I wouldn't call ORAS big. Most of the post game consisted of areas with just legendaries in them without any real exploration or any long lasting content.
It didn't really help that it had the easiest and simplest iterations of things like contests and the BF and padded the former out with dancing and dress up.

Do you or do you not go through the distortion world and spear pillar in the main game?
Is the Underground a minigame?
Did the BF remove several facilities and replace them with tower clones and decrease the difficulty?
Is there literally nothing in the Survival area other than rematches?

The answer for all of them is a huge fucking yes. And none of them stood out for what they did, at least not in a good way.
The underground fucked up bases and the Frontier cut a fuckton of content.
