Thanks, but I lack the ability to perceive colors, with the exception of black and white. Everything I see is just a series of tones that I either classify as light or dark. Don't ever ask me to identify a color because I can't, and since pre-kindergarten up to now I've never been able to live it down. It's kind of cruel that my favorite hobby is drawing, but I'm colorblind so I can't take full advantage of it...

Given the fact that there are theories of colour in light physics, and even layman concepts of what colour is, I'm pretty sure S/PA can understand what it is even if they will never directly perceive it. We live in a day and age where this concept can be scientifically explained, it's very clear someone has explained this concept to them.
I understand your argument, but it's not relevant when they are very aware of their problem and what it means.. Certainly, if they were born in a place that does not know about colourblindness and they never figured out they were colourblind, S/PA would never know what colourblindness is, much less than colour itself.
Take the example of the mantis shrimp. Due to the fact that it has 12 colour receptors, they can see millions of colours that humans cannot. Without seeing them, however, we understand that those colours exist, colourblind or otherwise.

Even though I can't distinguish colors, I know what they are anon....I just can't tell you whether it's red or blue and things of that nature......but I CAN tell you whether it's a dark or light color based on what I can see.

I actually discovered I was colorblind when I went to my eye doctor as a child and they gave me a color test to distinguish how severe it was. Unfortunately, I don't know WHICH variant of colorblindness I have since some people can have select ones like red/green but they see all the other colors just fine.

I didn't mean to derail the thread with my problems so I apologize for that, I just wanted to put that out there for future reference so anons don't wonder why something's colored that way or have them tell me that something's not supposed to be that color. It's....a bit embarrassing to talk about in actuality because I got teased so much in elementary school for it, as well as for being nearsighted because I also have nystagmus, and my teachers did nothing about it....just let nature run its course. I'll overcome all this crap one day, but until then, expect more artwork from me with small signs of improvement

If you don't want to just use Popplio's color scheme, you could maybe switch the primary and secondary colors. Like, Lighter blue for the body with darker blue highlights.
