This is what we had at the beginning of the gen. I think blaziken, Kanga and gengar were the first to go but it really wasn't that chaotic because a lot of the Pokemon check each other just by virtue of having really good stats/moves. M-gar is the most problematic, but it wasn't really that chaotic at the beginning, it's fun how everyone abuses the OP Pokemon in different ways.

On the other hand you have mega metagross and charizard x running around in OU.

M-Mawile is easily countered. Heatran shits on its day if it's not the SubPunch set (and even if it is, if it comes in at the same time), defensive Lando-T breaks every set it has, and even M-Scizor can break it if it's defensive enough. Also, did everyone miss that it's slow as mud and vulnerable to EQ? If it's got a sub up and Focusing, you bring in a Lando-T or Thundurus. If it's just attacking you, you still bring in Lando-T, or Heatran, or even Zard-X. It's not that hard, and it can't possibly compete against Pdon, so why put it in Ubers?

Also, yes, you need to play around it. It has two possible sets. That just means that you switch in the Lando-T that every goddamn team has and Intimidate it before it subs.
