The multiplayer aspect is so shallow that it doesn't matter at this point if the game is 'Dead'. If however there was a multiplayer aspect that the game DEPENDED on and people weren't playing, then yes the game would be in trouble. But for now as long as you still enjoy it who cares.

Pokefast uses 250kbs every time I scan but it can load some more since it has advertisements. Also if your area is loaded with a lot of mons pokefast might not show them all to you, but that's what I heard, I had no problem with it so far.

Don't know about the other scanner tho.

Had almost 300 Shellder candies without finding something of decent level to evolve, but today I lucked out and found a 600 cp Shellder, lucked out even more with that moveset.

I've managed all Dragonites with my Gyaradoses thus far, but it feels great to finally have a dedicated wyrmkiller.

As long as you're just using throwaway accounts for personal scanning - which you should do in any case since you're going to want a handful to do the job properly - there is virtually no risk to your actual account. In all likelihood the slave accounts will ultimately be banned at some point but they're easily replaceable.

Ok looking for some advice here. Couple weeks ago hatched a Lapras with Frost Breath/Blizzard, second tier IVs with 14 Att. Powered it up to around 2050 CP with the hatch candies.

Couple days ago hatched pic related. It has top tier IVs with perfect Stamina. I'm leaning toward using the candy to power up the already invested in 2000 CP Lapras. Is that a good choice?

It would be better if stardust was awarded for every gym battle won, even if small increments. So the pokecoin cashout is separate from that stardust bonus. This would give you some tiny minute reason to take on gyms before the cooldown resets because with the rarity of healing items and revives it's just not feasible waiting precious items to beat gyms that give you nothing but a pittance of XP.

Honestly, IVs only matter if you plan to get a Pokemon to lvl 30 since the advantage from a 0 IV to a 90-100 is like 10% more power and incidentally, that's about how strong a Pokemon becomes from lvls 30 to 40 so in it's like a long term investment or power bargain to minmax shit. However, if you already have a lvl 25-30 Pokemon with around 75% IV, it's not worth starting from scratch just for 15% more IV and in your care, the moveset is inferior for attacking since Breath/Blizzard is the highest DPS for Lapras whereas Ice Shard/Beam is the best defensive one.

TLDR keep your 2000 CP Lapras.

I know Niantic hates Google, but would it really kill them to get some accurate location data for pokemon caught locations. Yes it's the least of concern for this game's issues but it still bugs me.

Anyway seems pokesearch was just experiencing issues due to the update, but now after like 5 scans it's showing the mystery spawn point again. And comparing to a screenshot of my area I took a week ago, the number of spawn points really did increase, in some areas even doubled.

Have spawn points changed? Cause the 3 major spawn locations on campus seem to be the same right now, but I've seen several pokemon that either never showed up or didn't show up more than once every few days. So the spawns themselves definitely changed.

My apartment is next to a college campus. I had like three spawn points in my place, now I have like 5-8 since the update.

My spawns are the usual suspects: bird, worm, rat. Eevee and Drowzee are pretty common too. Every now and again I'll get something interesting like Oddish, Paras, Gastly, Zubat, a Nidoran, or Bellsprout. Weird ones like Seel and Eggs stop by too.

The best things to spawn in my apartment since the game launched are Vaporeon, Scyther, Victreebel, Nidoqueen and a Venusaur that I had to walk around the parking lot for.

I don't rly have anything cool to say but I played this for the first time in months, and it was really fun. Idk why I put this game down. Walking around and catching Pokemon is pretty much the dream. I hope they improve the game more and can put real battles into it some day.
