There's different content. There's no indication of more content. One of the first things B2W2 advertised was the PWT. So far, the only evidence of content that isn't simply a substitute for the Gym + League content of other games is the Zygard quest.

The Trial captain related stuff seems to be replacing the gyms and league.

The Ultrabeasts are the evil team plot line.

Neither of these is 'more' content than what we had before.

So far none of new content is beyond XY longevity: new amie, customization, hyper training, riding pokemon. Z-moves and Alola forms are just new forms and new attacks - not more gameplay

We've yet to see stuff like Frontier,PWT or longer game material in general

I mean I really like BW2, but that's not it. Just everyone you can fight and everywhere you can explore in the open world and all the small things is what made it such a great game

I have a few problems with BW2 now that we dont have WFC, but the game still got a lot of content. It's almost like this game wasnt made by GF or they just tried to put a lot of good idea together for once, without worrying about.

I'm going to be very disappointed if SM doesnt have PWT. Making you battle all the gym leaders and Champions of previous game in 3D just screams 20th anniversary for me.

Content wise, the best games are:

BW2 > Emerald > Platinum > HGSS = ORAS.

SM might be the most content filled game ever, but sofar, it is XY tier at best. So, a lot under ORAS, let alone BW2.

There's a lot you can do, despite they straight up gimping the game barely a year after release, that's quite something.

I finally ran into that wall.

Beat the Treehollow and the Tower, fucked Yancy (it's real to me dammit), got the join avenue cutscene, beat challenge e4 with 1 pokemon, accidentally transfer my competitive team when it's clearly obsoleted on gen vi, caught the shitload of legendaries. The works.

B2W2 was also a sequel game not set in a new region, with no new Pokemon or anything like that. Hype-wise, B2W2 didn't have much to hype up at all, so busting out the post game content for it was one of their only options.

XY had a brand new maison, ORAS has a copy.
XY had gym leader rematches (with scalable levels), ORAS has none.
XY had an actual useful multiplayer tool in Friend Safari, ORAS has the limited and quickly forgotten Secret Bases.
XY had the Essentia quest just like ORAS has the Delta Episode.
The only thing ORAS did better is random trainer rematches and more legendaries to hunt.

Yeah Sun and Moon 2

Stopped way back with Crystal. Recently got back into the series, playing them in reverse order. Omega Ruby was really really good. X was not that good. I spent half as much time on X. Can't quite put my finger on it.

Now I'm 35 hours into White 2 and holy shit this is a good pokemon game. ORAS has better technology of course but it was made later. If BW2 somehow could have been made on the gen 6 engine it would be the most perfect game.
