I tried using the tint tool to make shadows and then the blur tool to soften out the glaring strokes.

I see now that actually a hard + soft shadow would be a p great combo there
Just remember that since there's only one strong light source the part where the shadow starts is gonna be hard (or hard-ish depends on the volume of the thing or somethin) and the parts that don't receive any light are gonna be darker, up to you if the latter should be hard or soft test both see which one you like more
Plus since it's night you should give the shadow a blue-ish kinda feel (pic related, I used a #94acc2 on a multiply layer + locked opacity and added a bit of darker hue with a soft brush on low opacity)
and and because it's night you really wanna show that contrast because moonlight doesn't reflect on stuff very good
and and the cast shadow can be blurry because it's further away from the uh... Idk look up a tutorial I'm running out of characters here
Shadows are super important for ambience
also you can cheat and make all/most contour of the body have some light although that wouldn't be natural but if it helps define the shape better you can try it
Again, test a lot on what can work and what doesn't

Not OR, but there are lots of different plants, each with their own names, so you could probably find at least one and make a play on words with 'Cougar' or 'Puma' or 'Panther' or whatever.

Well what I was thinking was that alot of pokemon don't really have their type theme in their name like froakie, feneckin,etc or Pokemon names that sound Japanese,which is what gen 7 started.
