I'm going to be so torn between immediately checking /vp/ when S/M come out or shutting down the Internet to avoid spoilers until I beat it.
Anyone else?
Anyone have a solution?

You don't have to shut down the Internet for those first days while playing. Unless you only use it for Pokémon.

I have almost 5,000 friends on Facebook and a lot of them are serious competitive players or spend hundreds of hours breeding. I'm bound to see something I don't want to within the first 72 hours

Why don't you like spoilers? I hate not knowing things about playing a game.
>>28732457
I'm just going to talk with friends as the game goes on. Just to generally talk about it. No spoilers guaranteed. No /vp/ until story is over.

You don't like to be surprised about things as you go along? There's nothing better than the thrill of encountering a Pokemon you've never seen before, but I haven't felt that in at least 5 years

Not that anon, but,
In recent years games have repeatedly been disappointing in various ways, not Pokemon specifically mind you, but a lot of them, to the point where I will not waste my time buying or 'acquiring' them if I don't like the things I'm seeing when I do research on them.

Beat your meat and open /vp/

>Pokemon
>spoilers
Who fucking cares? These games don't have a plot. The only thing that I'd consider a "spoiler" would be the new Pokemon and we're mostly spoiled with those already, so just hang around for the hype--or more likely, the disappointment.
I don't mind being spoilered on the pokemon and moves themselves, but I'm going to avoid the internet just to avoid story spoilers.
