UPDATE:

Brock was harder than I had expected.

MARLENE (Charmander) had no trouble taking care of his Aerodactyl thanks to Metal Claw. It gained a bunch of experience and leveled up enough to learn Dragon Rage.
However, BARBARA (Pidgey) and UBER (Nidoran male) died to his Omastar and Kabutops, respectively. It was my Charmander against his Water/Rock Kabutops who still had half of its HP.
Luckilly enough, Charmander was able to outspeed it somehow, and one Dragon Rage was enough to take it down.

Got the first badge. I used a Lvl. 18 Charmeleon and a Lvl. 16 Nidorino.
Since one is a Ground-type and other is a Fire-type, I almost lost them both against the Water-types Brock used. Dragon Rage was a blessing.

Figured I'd do a second nuzlocke of HG to pass the time. Have a team of Quilava (Sierra), Bellsprout (Snapple), Rattata (Nuka), and Spinarak (Ymir).

So far, two deaths--Mareep (Joseph) and HootHoot (Eroll).

I think the critical hit ratio is horribly skewed cause I'm dishing out and receiving a ton of them. Snapple's pretty impressive, having never raised a Bellsprout before. I'm hoping he'll stick around long enough to become a Victreebel!
Nuka is a crit magnet and also deals them out. Sierra's got a good nature (Hasty), and she's already got me my first badge. And Ymir is just there because SPIDERSSS.

Team is at Azaela right now, so hopefully all will continue to go well!

I've just arrived to Vermillion.

I've been playing in set, so I'm a bit afraid of switching pokemon in battle.

Something I've always wondered about with Nuzlockes in Red version, does the route on either side of Viridian Forest count as two areas, or just one? They're technically both Route 2, but they're completely disconnected from one another.

Well, Surge was a pushover.

LAMIA's combo of Minimize + Growth + Giga drain (learnt during the battle) is amazing.

Though my Butterfree died on the route right to Vermillion, and my Meowth died in SS Anne.

Brock's team was certainly a surprise, but we pulled through pretty good. I went in expecting to sweep with Top Turt, and ended up using Cumdump and Reiju instead. No casualties so far, let's hope it stays that way. (I probably just jinxed myself.) Can't wait to see what new friends are in store!

Oh, I will be. Probably going to hella grind before I even give it an attempt.

Benched Nyanners to make room for coverage. The Super Nerd in Mt. Moon nearly gave me a heart attack when that level 20 Raichu came out, but we managed to pull through. No deaths yet, although there was a REALLY close call against Jessie's Lickitung. Wrap is a BITCH in gen I. Picked up Clefairy in the Mt. Moon new area, and Jigglypuff outside Cerulean City. Debating if I should grind up into the 23-25 range before I fight my Rival, that bastard can be tough in a normal playthrough.

Thanks for the advice. I could also be sneaky and use Boota on Lapras, delicious Karate Chop crits on Lapras's not-quite-as-good defense could work, and that way I can use cumdump on other stuff. Good to know she has a Lapras in the first place.

Saving Boota for Lapras worked out very well, thank you kind Anon for the warning. Managed to make it through Misty with no deaths. It's going to make it all the more heartbreaking when it finally happens.

Debating on teaching Dig to Terra. Probably not going to, because I'm sure I'll get a better ground move soon. Team has been solid so far, I was worried that Reiju might start to lag behind, but so far she's been putting up a valiant effort. Taught Steel Wing to Papi, because I haven't had anything to deal with Fairies yet. Let's hope I can keep this up.

Well, internet went out for awhile, and is still pretty spotty. Just got to Lavender Town. While grinding up some spares for the Surge fight, I had my first death: Victor the Bellsprout, RIP. Surge went surprisingly well. Rock Tunnel was pretty eventful, had quite a few close calls, especially with Papi. I really hope she gets a better flying move soon, or she may have to get benched: Gust just ain't gonna cut it, and I'm REALLY banking on her for the Erika fight.

Level 40 check-in! Just beat Giovanni and got the Silph Scope. He was a solid 7 levels above me, but I still was 1-shotting everything, which is really, REALLY encouraging. Still pretty nervous about fighting Erika, even though Papi now has Wing Attack and Fly. (Sub-optimal, I know, but whatever.) And now that Terra has Earthquake and evolved, I'm feeling really good about this team.

Misty's Gym's been defeated, but not without loss. I got overconfident because Shimmer was steamrolling everything she had with Thunderbolt, then the Lapras comes out, it survives a Thunderbolt with a sliver, then kills Shimmer with a crit Body Slam.

I'm gunna be going without a 6th team member until after I catch the pokemons from the routes south of Cerulean and around Vermillian.
