>Make Defog extremely useful, which also triggers Defiant
>Create a mega power creep that forces Intimidate, which, again, triggers Defiant
>Add a bunch of powerful Pokemon that eat shit against Sucker Punch and Pursuit

Has any Pokemon been more indirectly buffed than Bisharp?

Tangrowth.
Tangrowth has been basically the same. It only got a new toy in the form of assault vest, but basically everything shifted around it to make it usable compared to last gen where it only worked as a bad version of chlorosaur
