I doubt split evos because it makes no fucking sense and people are basing it literally only off one constantly mistranslated vague line in a CoroCoro issue months ago.

Rockruff has sun/moon forms because it's based on a werewolf. Nothing about the starters theming fits them having sun/moon forms. And both the riddler and chinese leaks only cite these set of starters, AND the concept images have no implication of multiple forms. They only say Owl3, Tiger3, Sealion3, not Owl3-Sun, Tiger3Moon, etc.

While it would fit the theme for Sun and Moon, its highly unlikely that GF would do so because of the marketing would be way more complicated than it needs yo be and it's just something I don't see happening.

Honestly while there is the issue of one being outsold then the other, that's how Starters overall are or what ended up being the case. If they sell merchandise for all six plus the Lycanroc forms they honestly are just getting more plushies for least trouble. Perhaps in a basic sense they hope people who really like "blank" will end up liking both it's starters form or the like and thus end up buying both. And while it isn't confirmed the full alolan families of Vulpix, Sandshrew and Persian are based on Blue Version pokemon so in a similiar capacity could see them being Moon Exclusives while Sun ones are like Electric Arcanine line, Electric/Rock or Ground or something Arbok and Flying or something Primeape.

It makes sense given they hinted more at Midnight Lycanroc than Midday given the Pupster's dex info.

He confirmed UBs aren't catchable too but people with brains knew that.
