Ok, so none of the leaks have addressed the most obvious thing that will be in this gen: WHAT WILL THE NEW FROG POKEMON BE?
>>28675017
gens 3 and 6 didn't have one
I want a firey bullfrog for some reason.
Coqui frog. They're considered an invasive species in Hawaii.

>>28675118
>gen 6 didn't have one
Nope. Certainly not the single most notable Pokemon of the generation or anything.
>>28675118
>Gen 3 and 6 didn't have one
Well, besides the point that a frog is a starter in gen 6, all of the good gens have had a frog
>>28675118
Gen 3 had Ludicolo and Gen 6 had Greninja. Get your facts straight.
>>28675017
It will be Poison/Steel
>>28675151
How could something so invasive be so cute?
>>28675398
>Gen 3 had Ludicolo

>>28675398
Ludicolo is a kappa
>>28675398

These fuckers. They're chirping outside my window right now. Loud as hell for something so small, and with no natural predators they spread like wildfire in Hawaii!
To make matters worse, according to one of my professors who's studied them since about when they first arrived the spread was pushed by a bunch of environmentalists who were trying to prevent eradication. They started transplanting them to other areas once the state realized they could spray diluted caffeine solution and kill every frog.
Fun fact: Coqui frogs are one of the few amphibians without an aquatic phase to their lifecycle. They don't hatch as tadpoles, only as even smaller frogs.

>>28679781
Question, Professor. Why are they amphibians if they have no aquatic phase?
>>28679795
Well, you know, gotta know a few cool things as a Professor.
>>28679833
dubs confirm it
>>28679829
The larval phase and associated metamorphosis is characteristic of amphibians, but not a defining feature, just like laying eggs is characteristic of fish but a few bear live young.
In the case of amphibians there's generally a life cycle that involves two environments: aquatic and terrestrial. A few, such as lungless salamanders, some toads, and a few frogs, only live in one environment, and as a result have developed past this need. To be more accurate, what would be the larval phase passes rapidly and is spent inside the egg, so it isn't observed.
