I don't think he's lying, but rather exaggerating. I know that Fnac gets a few games 1 or 2 days eating for instance, it was the case for some big titles such as MH, XY, ORAS, MM and even Smash 4 at the time.

The people I pre order from usualy get games to me 2-3 days early, so I'll be at most 3 days behind the rest of the non euros instead of 5..

Pro tip for anyone in the UK: If you're hoping to get the game early than for gods sake, dont fucking order from Amazon. Those fuckers leave it till right up to fucking release day to post games to people, and alot of the time you dont receive the game until days after it has come out.

For those in EU, look up if there are any Fnacs near by. As a Swissfag, I can say that we usually get games a few days earlier than the actual release date. That being said, it might not happen everywhere, but why not give it a shot? I heard the same thing from some French friends of mine.
