No. Megas should have worked more like Synchro in the anime though and should have been limited to starters and super-uber legends like Mewtwo, Rayquaza and Arceus.

Not permanent, but toggleable outside of battle like Kyurem fusions. Pokémon still need to hold the mega stones, and you can only have one mega evolved at a time. Doesn't count as an actual evolution for the purpose of eviolite.

they should have been late game permanent evos reserved only for pokemon that were gimped by some dumb design flaw. they shouldn't turn pokemon into god-tier status and they should all be +100 stats

Most of the megas look really stupid and have bad designs.

The only legit fix: throw megas into the trash. If it wasn't a final stage mega then keep the design for a real evolution.
