Why did they push this thing so hard prior to release and then give up on it right away?
>>28639622
That was the next step of their master plan. Nowadays they just rely on furfags to make shit popular with porn anyway.
>pushed hard
>almost impossible to get on the game it was introduced in
>relegated to basic wild pokemon in gen 6 while lucario is forced on you and has one of the best megas in the game
>>28639622
A shame too, I personally like Zoroark over Lucario.
>>28639622
They made it nearly impossible to get and it's not very strong, so people stopped caring about it
>>28639666
What the evil guy said.
Being event exclusive was an asinine idea and team display ruins illusion.
>>28639694
reminder that it wasn't just event exclusive, you needed to partake in TWO seperate events to get zoroark in BW
>Introduce a pokemon with a cool ability that relies on catching opponents off guard.
>Introduce mechanic where both players see every pokemon on the each team.
Zoroark never had a chance.
I don't even know why they tried to push it considering at a glance it's obvious its design isn't as marketable or asgoodas Lucario's.
Zoroark is Gamefreak's Poochie. His design screams "Focus Group", yet the fans didn't give a shit since they saw right through their attempt to make Lucario 2. So when Gen VI came around they went back to shoving Lucario everywhere.
>>28639754
you're right, it's not as goodit's better
>>28639730
>Anon can't catch the opponents off gaurd
They introduced a cool ability the same generation they they nerfed the ability. What kind of retarded shit is that?
>>28639772
>Why did this guy switch that pokemon in on me?
>Oh wait, I already saw he had a Zoroark on his team.
If you were able to choose which pokemon it disguised itself as and there was no team preview, this guy would have been one of the most used pokemon ever
>>28639813
t.person with no creativity
>>28639730
>yfw they buff illusion in gen VII to make zoroark appear as a random pokemon from the opponent's party in the team preview, granted the player doesn't have the exact same team as the opponent.
>yfw when they also make it so that every pokemon that isn't zoroark on the player's party appears as zoroark when sent out
The bullshit and clusterfuck levels would be massive but it would be so much fun because no play would be safe anymore
>>28639772
You can, but not really effectively.
Even then, it's not like Zoroark can do much besides get a Nasty Plot in. He's not that threatening.

>yfw they buff illusion in gen VII to make zoroark appear as a random pokemon from the opponent's party in the team preview, granted the player doesn't have the exact same team as the opponent.
Under species clause rules people would assume Zoroark is in the team unless you never faced one.
>yfw when they also make it so that every pokemon that isn't zoroark on the player's party appears as zoroark when sent out
That idea is just an extension of your previous one, then yes illusion might come in good use. Don't know it would be better than no team preview though.
