How tf does anyone get annoyed by Sylveon? They're some of the most lovable, affectionate Pokemon ever. My auntie used to have this really funny butch one with quite a masculine energy that we all used to call "Biscuit". She was such a sweet thing, quite a diva too. Any ideas on how strengthen your Pokemon's resistance to their type weakness? I've been wanting to help my onix deal with water types lately and I was wondering if maybe getting it to sit in a waterfall nearby for short periods at a time would give it a better tolerance over time. Of course I wouldn't force it to do it if it doesn't want to because not only is that horribly disrespectful to your Pokemon, but let's face it, you try forcing an onix to do anything it doesn't want to.

If you're looking for Fire Stones but don't want to spend the cash, Cinnabar has tons of them down in the caves, you just gotta look hard. Most of them have been mined but the volcano usually creates new ones.

For Haunter and Electabuzz, don't trade them online. Try to have a friend help you out so you don't loose them.

I figured to highlight your post from the other thread. Anyways, there are other options outside of Pokemon battles. I'm particularly fond of contests, they originated in Hoenn and pretty much flourished there. Zero Pokemon on Pokemon conflict, and more about trying to show off their unique qualities as well as move combinations. :)

It isn't easy to get over losing a friend, just make sure to take plenty of pictures and enjoy the time you've got with it. There is a decent support group for those who've lost friends though. It helps knowing you're not alone.

Despite common misconceptions (which I have no idea how it became popular as a wives tale) but Pokemon are not hurt by their type weakness out in nature. Like, fire types can take baths, they might not like it, but the water won't hurt them, neither would a waterfall hurt an Onix, unless it's falling with the force of a damn water jet cutter. As for strengthening resistances, theres no real way to strengthen a Pokemon's resistance to a major degree, you could use Pokemon of it's type disadvantage (preferably weak ones) to expose it to attacks and build up it's pain tolerance, but any type strengthening will be worthless in an actual battle.

Well, one of my fellow gym trainers in Goldenrod ratted me out to Whitney. She saw me making posts on my Pokegear here trying to get people together to make our own gym and showed them to Whitney. She read everything I said about her, fired me, then had the police escort me out of the gym. I wanted to hold off on quitting because I needed the money to pay rent but this blabbermouth ruined it.

I'm still a beginner trainer, mostly exploring. I don't think I'm quite capable to win that many battles. Right now my grandparents had helped me out with my vacation but my regular work is actually less impressive.

I work in ecruteak, I help the kimono girls theatre. Mostly in the background..

I clean, maintain their Pokemon/ kimonos/ and the theatre itself. Run errands when they need me and just overall do little things.

Wailmer need a fair amount of food, they tend to be better suited for ocean travel over inland usage due to their size. I can't recommend one for travel through lakes or streams unless they're big enough to suit such a creature.

Ideally, I would go with something like a Walrein, Empoleon, or anything similar to your size. You'll want a Pokemon big enough to assist you with water transportation, but not big enough to impede movement in tight areas.

It all depends on your needs though. Lapras and Wailmer are perfect for long travels due to their size, temperament, and endurance .

If you do decide to catch a Wailmer, number one thing is bonding. Wailmers are very affectionate Pokemon, they need lots of room and lots of love, so swimming with it regularly is ideal. If you can't give it the room to swim, the second best is to find a hose and let it bounce around while keeping it wet with the hose, Wailmer are actually very capable of moving on land due to how light and bouncy they are. Even the youngest Wailmers are more than capable of long distance oceanic travel, so you are certainly okay in that regard. As for feeding, you can buy regular pokefood, or water-type based food, Wailmer are very hardy and can eat most kinds of food, but they eat a lot. The easiest methods to feed them is either large bags of cheap brand food, lots of berries, or let them feed themselves by taking them to the sea, where they will take care of it themselves. If you don't have the proper facilities to handle a Wailord, though, I would suggest keeping it from evolving, since Wailords are extremely taxing to care for unless you have a lot of money, a lot of ocean, and a lot of time

So I moved into an older house with my friends. They're off doing things with school and my job is mostly Pokemon rearing as I use the barn and rest of the house as an independent day care and breeding center.

Finally got back to Accumula after spending a year abroad in Kalos. Beautiful region, and pretty easy to travel. Nice night life. I probably looked like a total tourist with my Rufflet out of his pokeball, but everyone there is so fashionable I was never going to fit in anyway. I'd highly recommend giving it a visit if you're a career trainer.

It wasn't easy, but I snagged all 8 badges. Lost in the League Prelims, but that guy went on to the top 16 I think so I'm happy with my performance.

They've got this new deal - I'm sure you all watched the Kalos League so you know what I'm talking about - Mega Evolution. It's real folks, and it's ridiculous. You should have seen what it did to Aggron. Pretty sure it's going to be a BIG deal in battling once it catches on.

League challenges seem pretty popular around these parts. I dabble myself, and I do enjoy battling, but I'm not super committed to the lifestyle.

I'm originally from Verdanturf, in Hoenn, been making my way around the region for a few years. I challenged a couple gyms but mostly I've been fucking around with part time jobs for room and board for me and the crew, seeing the sights. My goal is to reach Lilycove, it seems like an amazing city. And then, well, I kind of want to settle down there, maybe get certified for teaching. Ain't getting any younger y'know?

You won't believe what happened to me. With some vacation money I saved up from petty street matches with my Beedrill and Cloyster in Kanto I decided to to visit Hoenn, about half a year ago. Sea Mauville seemed like a nice (and cheap) enough tourist attraction, so I decided to visit it. Guys, you won't believe me, I swear to gos, I got SO lost. I walked in and saw the ship's rooms, interesting enough. There seemed to be a gap in the ship full of open water that seemed to lead to another place, so my idiotic curiosity led me to take our my Cloyster and go through it. When I got out into the other side, I discovered that I was not the only person with dumb curiosity! Besides that, there was a whole other side of the ship to discover, so I took my chances of my memory aiding me later and I took off into the ship.

At some point in time I found an old rusty key under some books in a room and managed to open some old rooms...

They say only some pokemon have those stones to evolve, and they're a rarity anyways, but would you believe it, I walk into a room and in the corner a find a shiny marble looking thing, taking on the same color scheme as my Beedrill. I gasped, I couldn't believe it. I sent him out and gave him the stone, could it be that I have a chance to become a trainer?

Sadly... no results still, and I'm back home in Kanto and we still can't figure out how to use this thing. Pic related is the stone.. anyone have any idea how I can find out more info about this? I'm almost sure it has to be one of those mega stones, it looks so alike to the ones on the TV!

And yes, I'm SURE it is not some plain old marble... it has some weird energy radiating off it.

Just get a measure of the wild Pokemon that are in your area and train them a bit higher than that. Doesn't need to be a lot. Plus those moves could be useful in non combat situations. I don't get why all these Leaguers only use a dozen or two moves out of battle, almost anything a Pokemon can do has practical applications.
Just make sure them 'Krows are strong enough so that a flock won't get swept by a wandering bully.

In retrospect, this is the dumbest thing I've ever done and I should have thought it through. I'm unhireable now. Assault like that means probation from participating in the League for 5 years, I'm unable to work in a gym for the rest of my life, and I might go to prison. The court doesn't look too kindly on "I only did it because I was fed up" as a defense. I think I'm just gonna go raise a shedinja and look into its hole instead. Maybe I trained too hard and aggressively; it was out of a desire to want to be the best. None of that matters now.

So I was out on route 218 and this floatzel attacked me. Garchomp just came out of his pokeball but the floatzel didn't care at all. He attacked with some water type move that looked like a bunch of bubbles. Garchomp started going on a rampage and I just couldn't calm him down. The floatzel ran away but Garchomp chased him. When I found him he was just tearing up trees for no reason and hitting himself. What happen to him I took him to a Pokemon center but Nurse Joy said he was fine when she checked his pokeball.

It's really relaxed battling though, more like a time-filler between courses. I went drinking with a few waiters one night and they told me there's an "unspoken rule" that you go easy on the customers. They will get serious if you're a serious trainer, but it's nothing to be scared of if you're just looking for a night out.

Of course I realize battling just isn't for everyone. Personally if I go a few days without at least a friendly 1v1 I get antsy, and so does Braviary. He would probably peck my eyeballs out if I ever said I was quitting for good.

Now that I'm home from the league though, I'm really thinking Gym Trainer is a more attainable spot than champion or E4 Member. I'm good but just can't seem to break that ceiling into elite, but I also enjoy battling and seeing new trainers come into their own. Thinking Normal-Type.

I got no idea how one even goes about becoming a leader though, I've never put any thought into it. Do you get certified somehow? Do I have to replace somebody? We're already kind of full-up on Gyms here and the leaders are well-known and respected.

I'm a journeyman breeder (currently studying under a master in Hoenn) and I've never seen one myself, but there are documented reports of them. Leading theories are that it's caused by a rare virus that can somehow bypass the egg's coating. Nasty results apparently.

If I do end up facing this guy, I've got a Scizor on my team and a Ninjask in reserve. A few more of my Pokemon have Fighting and Ice type moves. Taking out the Darkrai alone would probably do more for my career than making it to Top 8.
