I challenge random scrubs on PSS passerbys. I usually get lucky and match up against people who are really bad even when they use decent mons so my shitmon teams don't get stomped. I gave up looking for battles here a long time ago since no one here actually plays the games.

All you can do it is just play it anyway. Eventually you will build up some confidence.
