John Gamefreak finally got tired of other video game CEOs mocking

6v6 no metaknight, no evasion, final destination only.

Game changes

1. Evasion is removed as a mechanic. Instead all evasion boosting moves are replaced with accuracy reducing ones. This prevents bullshit evasion setups without removing the ability to force the opponent into a dice roll decision, since he can choose to switch out to counter it.

2. OHKO moves are effectively removed. Sheer cold becomes a low BP ice move with a high freeze rate. Horn Drill becomes a standard offensive move which ignores defensive boosts. Fissure becomes a 120BP 70ACC ground move. Guillotine becomes a move that instantly faints a pokemon with below half HP.

3. All auto-weather abilities are re-restricted to box legends. Including sand and hail. Weather moves now last until they are removed from the field. Defog now removes weather. Weather move duration increasing rocks are removed. Hail now gives ice types a 50% defense boost much like how sand gives rock types a sdef boost.

4. Mega stones are mostly removed. M-Audino, M-Abomasnow, M-Altaria, M-Glalie become standard evolutions. M-Mawile and M-Sableye become standard evolutions with significant stat reductions. Mega Evolution becomes a unique mechanic for starter pokemon only.

5. General stat rebalancing of everything produced before gen 4 with an eye on giving all of those pokemon with all around mediocre stats like Arbok more specialization.

6. Focus on changing movepools and abilities of 'early route' pokemon with low BST in a way that makes it so they aren't OP ingame, yet can be competitively viable. (like Talonflame except not that retarded)

Ability changes:
Excadrill loses Sand Rush, Blaziken loses Speed Boost (M-Blaziken retains it), Greninja loses Protean (M-Greninja retains it). In general, hidden abilities all become standard abilities.

Cloud Nine now removes weather rather than negating it. So does Air Lock. Air Lock expanded to Magnezone, Beheeyem (replacing Analytic for both), and any space related pokemon in general. Cloud Nine expanded to Slowking, Drifblim, Pidgeot, and Noctowl (and other spaced out pokemon and specially oriented fliers).

Gale wings removed from the game and the guy who thought it up gets fired. Talonflame gains some speed to compensate.

Move changes:

Stealth Rocks shatter upon hitting something they aren't very effective against just as toxic spikes are absorbed by poison types. Several other elemental entry hazards added following this rule (fire and ice type)

Baton Pass transfers status, removing it from the passer and inflicting it on the receiver.

Format:

Item and species clauses remain in effect for all formats.

There are three official formats: 6v6 doubles, 6v6 singles and 3v3 draft singles. VGC now has two formats, 6v6 doubles and 3v3 singles. Top 16 of singles are played 6v6 rather than 3v3. Battle Spot offers all formats.

Banned pokemon: Event pokemon and box legends are always banned.

Also I forgot one other mechanics change: Implement a soft sleep clause. When a pokemon is slept, it automatically boosts the sleep counter of every other slept pokemon on its team by 1 turn. This is an elegant way to both nerf dark void smeargle in doubles as well as reduce the impact of spore breloom in singles formats.
