True but it's not exactly evil.
I'd say something like
Guilmon - Dragon
Growmon - Dragon
Megalogrowmon - Dragon/Steel
Dukemon - Dragon/Fighting
And the Black variant being
Black Guilmon - Dark/Dragon
Black Growmon - Dark/Dragon
Black Megalogrowmon - Dark/Steel
Chaos Dukemon - Dark/Fighting
And Megidramon - Dark/Dragon
Renamon: Psychic/Fighting
Kyubimon: Psychic/Fire

To be fair, it doesn't change the meaning of the name and Mercurymon wasn't introduced until years later so would have been hard to predict.
And since offical things from Japan have gotten things like "Flaydramon" and "Raidramon" are not quite infallible in romanji. RAIDramon.

>>28602175
Ya sure? Because there are official romanizations afaik.

What's going on with Digimon nowadays? Are they still making games in japan?
>>28604109
Digimon World: Next Order is going to be released in the west soon (PS4/Vita). Digimon Adventure Tri. is having the third OVA being released this month. Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters will be released later this year, and a related game for the 3DS will be released as well.
All in all, Digimon is pretty alive and kicking nowadays. And they recently released a 10/10 game for PS4/Vita.
>>28604109
Digimon Universe anime and 3DS game for Yokai Watch audience
Digimon World Next Order for oldfags
I watched Digimon as a kid.. but when I catch up with what's going on outside the tv series it's so weird how like Gatomon can digivolve to Submarimon?? I just don't get it, do they not have themed evolutions or can they just become anything??? the franchise seems fucked up, some of the game evolutions look so unrelated are they canon?. I did only watch it up until season3 as a kid and the only games I played was rumble arena which was the evolutions from the tv show. Wish they put Renamon in RA2
>>28604166
>Digimon World: Next Order is going to be released in the west soon (PS4/Vita)
You mean PS4 only. Vita release is Japanese exclusive. Sony is planning to minimize Vita support in the west and push PS4 sale instead.
There are already news thread about this couple of days ago.
>>28604321
I'd blame Sony but then Vita isn't as popular as it should be. Well, fuck, I wanted to play Cyber Sleuth.
>>28604305
>do they not have themed evolutions
There are, if you follow a certain line.
>can they just become anything???
Welcome to Digimon, enjoy your stay.
>some of the game evolutions look so unrelated are they canon?
Yes.
Digimon aren't creatures, they're data. Data that's constantly adapting to its environment while it grows. A Digimon forced to live under caverns is more likely to evolve into stuff like Drimogemon or Digmon. Stuff like win ratio in battles, acquired skills, if it was well bred or not by a tamer... All of that accounts when a Digimon evolves.
I love Digimon tri but I hate how they act like 02 Tamers don't exist???? and then add a random new character whose Digimon is obviously gonna be the main antagonist, aka Kokomon part 2
>>28604401
I cant tell from your post, but Cyber Sleuth already comes out on PS4 and Vita in the west. Only Next Order is affected (with currently announcement at least, they could change their mind if clients are making enough noises)

oh god this is cool, I understand now lol but this feels like deep Digimon stuff lol
ahh I guess hypothetically it's possible for the Tamer Digimon to digivolve to the ~same thing in the anime but it doesn't happen because would be confusing since each tamers digi is also a cast character
>>28600682
I would fix veemons type to dragon fighting and flamedranons to fire dragon and halsemons type to flying steel and ur good :)
Would have meta ability like Rotom, but instead of possessing random home applications, it can possess random interstellar objects like space station, natural satellite, artificial satellite, planet to change form.
>this is actually canon for Ragnamon/Galacticmon
Man, I love Digimon
>>28604789
Yes but I have the feeling I have no chance to buy a Vita now though.
>>28604826
Yes, that's more or less the gist of it. And in-universe their evolutions are set once they're reached.
Remember there are two cases of Digimon evolving to other species: Greymon to SkullGreymon and MegaloGrowmon to Megidramon. There was some forcing from their respective tamers (remember what I said about the Digimon being influenced by how well they're taken care of?) and thus they evolved into evil versions.
This Agumon from Digimon Next http://wikimon.net/Agumon_(Next) evolved into a GeoGreymon after it was devolved from Greymon to Agumon, so in other media it can canonically happen.
>>28605202
Holy shit is that true?
Did Digimon 02 Tamers actually die in Tri? Read people saying they were battling outmatched because Hikari and TK weren't there to fusion digivolve.. and they died? idgi
>>28605365
>Holy shit is that true?
Vemmon is artificial digimon debutted in Digimon World 3. Its evolution line is hardcoded to solely depend on merging and possession. In early stage, it can only merge with its own clones. Later it can progressively merge with bigger and more complex entities and objects. Eventually it can merge with planet Earth to become Gaiamon but it has never reached this form because plot.

What games? In the original he learns fire moves and in dusk/dawn he also learns beast/fire attacks he starts learning ice attacks as he digivolves
He'd be like Slaking and Archeops, really high stats but a negative ability.
