Fix a crap pokemon by giving it a unique ability

I'll start:
>Screener
>Reflect and Lightscreen last an extra 3 turns

If anything, Mr.Mime really should've gotten an ability that automatically sets Dual Screens similar to weather abilities. It's viability would probably sky rocket.
>>
>>28591718

Stall teams would wet themselves with joy.
>>
Would that stack with the Light Clay?
>>
>>28591743
I would assume the screens would disappear upon exit
>>
>>28591718
Definitely. Even just an auto-Reflect upon entry would be good.
>>
>>28591769
Sure why not

Unown

...

I have no idea
>>
>>28591863
can learn every move of its HP type via a special move tutor
>>
>>28591396
I'd like to see an ability along the lines of "Light Screens put up by this Pokémon will also act as a Magic Coat."
>>
>>28591863
Its attacks are always super effective
>>
>>28591863
Give it schooling.
>>
>>28591396
It needs Kings Shield desu~
>>
>>28591863
>Hidden Power is automatically super-effective against the opposing Pokemon.

Wouldn't be that good since his stats are shit but he'd be better.
>>
>>28591773

That doesn't make any sense.
>>
>>28591924
But that's not a unique ability

take it away from whisiwashi and give it to unown
>>
>>28591396
>>Reflect and Lightscreen last an extra 3 turns
Literally Light Clay.

Mr. Mime got super boosted in Gen 6 with Hidden Power consistent 60 BP. In other words, a guaranteed 90 BP attack of any type it chooses. And access to Moonblast for the one type Hidden Power cant cover.
>>
>>28591396
>great movepool
>3/3 abilities are useful
>'crap'
>>
>>28591396
It already has Technician. Just give it Draining Kiss and this thing will be a god.

Luvdisc

He could go with schooling...

or a specials kind of schooling called 'heart school' or 'heart formation' that increases its defense, special defense, special attack and HP a lot.
>>
>>28591743
I'm not sure about that, Mime is pretty bad at taking hits and thus, it would be difficult to keep switching him back in.
He would probably crap on stall, since free dual screens make it easier to set-up with your other mons.
>>
>>28591975
Then rename the ability to gathering or something like that.
It worked for Medicham.
>>
>>28592039
So imagine Screener with Light Clay, then.

Those boosts don't matter since he's still shit. Auto screens upon entry and deactivating once he's out would make usable and it'd be balanced both for singles and doubles.
>>
>>28592070
>Love's Gift

Give it a variation of Bad Dreams that also makes all sleep-based moves 100% accuracy.

100% accurate Hypnosis + damage at the end of each turn.
>>
>>28591773
Why not just give it extra bulk then?
>>
>>28592398
It's a way to make the Pokemon viable in a unique way instead of just slapping it with 550 BST and calling it a day.

Plus he'd be God tier in doubles.
>>
>>28591769
Weather abilities stack with their respective rocks, so sure.

Please explain your logic. Im having trouble understandig, anon.
>>
>>28592651
I think sudowoodo should get something that opens a niche for him.

Maybe an ability that let's him get STAB from grass moves.
>>
>>28592858
That's a way cooler idea than that other Anon. I mean, Sudowoodo already looks like it should have STAB Woodhammer. Fits the idea of it mimicking trees.
>>
>>28592826

It's very familiar with different typing. so much so that when an attack is super effective it is able to take advantage of this further. But also, when an attack struck against it is one it resists it so familiar with it it knows how to resist it even further.

but... do you really give a shit about logic in pokemon? It buffs it, who gives a fuck?
>>
>>28592858

the idea of the topic is to fix the pokemon, not make them even more gimmicky.
>>
>>28592906
Of course, you'd have to throw in a couple more grass moves. Maybe the ability could include learning grass TMs ?
>>
>Mr.Mime
>doesn't get an ability like Dancer but that copies every single move
Come on.
>>
>>28592937
All right, throw in your idea to fix Sudowoodo.
>>
>>28591863

>>28592964
>Not, "Doesn't get an ability like Dancer but copies every single move except sound based moves considering Mimes don't talk."
Step it up Anon.
>>
>>28592906

Maybe sething like "Mimetic", he can't get hit the turn he switches in.
>Switch in

Magnet Shield - basically grants immunity to Ground moves and bounces back Electric moves. Magnezone would also get this ability.
>>
>>28592978

If you're going to make it gimmicky you can do that AND make it better, little extra on grass aint going to do that.

Make it so you can pick its type, like as soon as you send it out, probably from a choice of 3-5. Grass, Rock, Ground, Fighting and Normal. And there would be no way to tell visually what type it is. You could only deduce it based on how types hit it.

>Azelf
Determined: Stats and move use cannot be affected by ANYTHING. Not Taunt, not stat drops, nothing. The secret is that it still gets the Choice boost without being choice-locked.
>Mesprit
Empathic: Upon switching this Pokemon in, the opponent is automatically Infatuated, Tormented, and Taunted.
>Uxie
Knowledge Scan: Boosts Def or SpD by two stages based on whichever attack stat of the opponent is higher. Also has the same effect as Forewarn.

>Articuno
Absolute Zero: Immune to Water-type attacks. Water-type attacks boost Def by one stage.
>Zapdos
Stormclouds: Effectively Drizzle, but also creates Electric Terrain. Zapdos is also affected by this Electric Terrain. Damp Rock will extend both the Terrain and the rain.
>Moltres

OU, unless it gets banned ala Moody / Evasion Boosts.

UU. Def boosts aren't nearly as powerful as Offense boosts.

NU (at least it's out of fucking PU).

>>Zapdos
>Stormclouds: Effectively Drizzle, but also creates Electric Terrain. Zapdos is also affected by this Electric Terrain. Damp Rock will extend both the Terrain and the rain.
Ubers.

Top 5 in OU, possibly Ubers.

Ho-Oh with "Pheonix" would get banned to Anything-Goes.

I really like Uxie's Knowledge Scan, and Articuno's Absolute Zero (which should actually just heal him for 50%), but everything else is fucking broken.

Every move that Sudowoodo steals compies from other pokemon thanks to Copycat and Mimic is has double effectiveness, bypasses all forms of protect, and is used as if Sudowoodo had the Mold Breaker ability. If it's a special move it still uses Sudowoodo's Physical Attack stat.

>Shuckle: Fermentor

Out of battle, it acts like a shittier, Berry-based Pickup with the Gen II fermentation process (Oran Berry -> Berry Juice -> Rare Candy, probably with other berries added) tacked on.

In battle, it's a bit stranger. If Shuckle doesn't have a held item, it has a chance (maybe 10-30% each turn?) to pull a Berry (70% Oran, 10% Sitrus, 20% Leppa) out of its shell and equip it. If it holds any Berry for longer than 5 turns before eating it, its effect increases by 50% but Shuckle has a partial Gluttony effect (eating at 33% health, for instance) If it holds the Berry for 10 turns (or started the battle with it), then the Berry's effect is doubled, and Shuckle acts as if he had Gluttony.

Also, Dream Eater gives the effect of a random berry instead of healing the user.

Mr mime has a niche on my baton pass team. Because it has sound proof and is fairy typing it's immune to dragon tail and roar. I haven't seen anyone use whirlwind yet.
So I set up a sub and calm mind until it needs to switch
>>
>>28598385
...no.

Maybe copied moves can revert to Mimic instead of running out of PP, maybe they use Attack, or maybe they always get STAB, but that's just shitty and broken.
>>
>>28595343
Well then, let's go through and fix them.

>Determined
Combine Unaware and Oblivious. Choice items still lock it.

>Empathic
Randomly picks one of Infatuated, Tormented, Confused, Taunted, or Encored upon entering the battlefield. Only one, though, so you've got a 1/5 (2/5 if they used a good move or if they're Choice-locked) of it being useless.

>Knowledge Scan
No change.

>Absolute Zero
Now boosts both Def and SpD, and gives a Flash Fire-like boost for Ice-type moves.

>Stormclouds
Has the same conditionals as Primals; the weather goes away once Zapdos switches out. Damp Rock no longer extends.

>Phoenix
I really think you're overestimating the strength of it. Moltres automatically loses 50% to sneaky pebbles; it dies, they put up pebbles, it switches in and immediately dies again. That said, I'll correct it:
>If the Pokemon would be knocked out, it is instead set to 50% health, and its Def and SpD are both lowered by one stage.

It would give male Combee the unusual niche of a recyclable sacrifice.
