Rare stuff some Pokemon fans might not know about

In the post game of BW2 when you revisit Humialu City in one of the houses you'll find a newlywed couple asking you to ring a bell for them in Celestial Tower. once you'll go there you'll fight 4 angry ex-girlfriends of the married guy, one of each floor. They'll try to stop you from ringing the bell. Each is a type specialist: Fire (3 pokes), Normal (4 pokes), Ice (5 pokes), Steel (6 pokes)

Neat little side quest
>>

Was his wife the lady running in circles on the beach with that guy in front of the Pokemon centre. After you beat the league he's just standing on his own and says you need to make the most of every moment because you might not get another chance to or something like that.
Also those tower fights were more of a challenge than the league

Sophocles' name is a double reference. One to the scholar because he's an inventor. The other reference is to the endemic Hawaiian tree Sophora chrysophylla. His name is Chrys/ Chris in Italian, German, French, and Spanish confirming this.
The flowers of the tree are bright yellow, the Hawaiian name contains the word for paralysis, and the poisonous seeds of the plant are known for nearly instantly killing almost any bird that eats them. Literally super effective against flying types.
The exception is a yellow honey creeper called a Palila which has adapted to eating the seeds.
Oricorio yellow is also based on a yellow honey creeper that happens to be related to Sophocles' type specialty.

Nah, that just has to do with evolution priority for Eevee. Location has priority over happiness.

When XY came out, Sylveon also got priority over happiness, but not over location.

So the order of priority if your Eevee meets more is than one evolution's eeds is Glaceon/Leafeon -> Sylveon -> Umbreon/Espeon.

I realize it's just for a gameplay purpose that they let you have all the fossils, but this kind of fucks the geography. It's like there were the same kinds of Pokémon everywhere in prehistory.
>>
>>28590549
In Ruby they didn't build the sub. They stole it fron Lillycove where they went after you beat them on the volcano. They repainted it. The wailmers were to stop you from skipping the hideout and getting the badges. The costal base was the to get to the sub to steal it.

They never had a base in the jagged pass.

n one of the small houses, there's a lonely old man whose wife had passed and became quite lonely, and asks you to give him something cuddly to raise and cheer him up, he wants something under level 5.

Few in game days and when you return, he's not there, with a pokeball in the middle of the floor, with a note attached to it and your mon inside.

The note seems to imply he died, happily, but still died, and is extremely greatful towards you for giving him company in his last few days. You get a comet shard and get to take back this pokemon.

If you take a Diglett or Dugtrio to Pokeathalon and try to make them compete in any game that involves jumping, they'll be completely unable to jump and won't be able to win. The exception being the hurdle race, where they dig under the hurdles instead of jumping over them.

this is wrong but actually in gen i every time you raised a specific stat, the badge bonus (remember how badges used to boost stats?) for your other stats re-multiplied.

so if you had all the badges and used growth three times, your SPE would be +3 (x2.5) times the badge multiplier of 1.125, for x2.81.
Your other stats, assuming they hadn't been modified by you or your opponent, would have the badge modifier apply three times on top of the original level, for a total of ~x1.5 (with some fun rounding errors). the badge bonus will stack until the stat is directly modified.

The same thing applies to the paralysis speed drop and the burn attack drop; so long as the speed/attack aren't directly modified, they'll quarter/halve every time your other stats change.

Not so much an easter egg as just shitty programming, but still interesting.

Also in Gen I, pokémon cannot be statused by a damaging move of the same type as them. this was to prevent fire types getting burned, but it extends to body slam and paralysis (and others) as well.

There's a hidden area in Castelia City where you can catch wild Eevee.

There's another hidden area where you some punk kids battle you, similar to >>28590489

Not many people seem to know about these.

Also in B2/W2, Sabrina is a recurring actress in PokéStar Studios. I also highly recommend you all go back and play those. Use the Bulbapedia Guide to get through it if you must. Just go experience it. You get tons of items, a "shiny sparkle" for your Pokemon, and there are TONS of neat details and shit in there.

At the risk of summoning Richard and his autism; there's an NPC in B2/W2 that says Lt. Surge is "Unovan". This is a nod to the fact that he was originally introduced as "American", but the USA has since been used as the inspiration for the Unova Region in the Pokémon World.

Oh, and lastly, B2/W2 has a reference to the Kalos PokéBall Factory. They don't mention Kalos by name obviously, just "PokéBalls are produced in a factory in a nearby Region" or whatever. Considering B2/W2 and X/Y were produced alongside each other, I doubt this was a coincidence.

>But if you have some legitimate examples of where the English version pales in comparison, I would like to know.

Tons, but it's more a matter of the English version sucking than the Japanese version being spectacular. They used the same people for the anime dub to translate BW while everything prior was done by some in house team.

> Bronius: "Those who left Team Plasma and are behaving with respect and understanding toward Pokémon... Them, please forgive! However, those who won't interact with Pokémon in a kind and honest way... Even I will never forgive them!"

Just read this garbage and tell me it's a good translation. Ghetsis is actually one of the better parts of the games English dialogue, but his dialogue is notably different, like they rewrote it, so it's less authentic.

Y'know, I see this sentiment a lot. And not to judge you or lump you in with other people or anything, but I don't like how an entire generation of gamers were raised to expect rewards for everything. Look at Call of Duty with the trillion medals, and prestiges and shit. Or shit like Achievements.

I feel like I am part of the minority that gets complete satisfaction from the experience of neat little sidequests like that, without expecting big rewards from it. You beat 5 NPC's, and rang a bell. What more could you possibly ask for, other than some fun dialogue, and the satisfaction of completing this mini event? MAYBE a Rare Candy instead of a Revive, because B2/W2 are the easiest games to get money in, so Revive isn't worth much. But ehh.
>>

>>
>>28606470

>>
>>28605990

>>28608765

>>
>>28608420
This. The quest itself is the reward. And I don't mean it in a shitty philosophical way. It's just that it's a fun thing to do. You meet a couple, they ask you to ring a bell, you go there, surprise! His ex-girlfriends are there! You get some fun type specialist fights and that's it. Having a good reward to every little thing would cheapen the experience.

>>
Some Pokédex entries mention areas that are dangerous for a person to touch, like Espurr's ears that restrain its extremely powerful psychic powers, or Honedge's tassel, which punishes people trying to use it as a weapon by draining their energy. In Pokémon-amie, these Pokémon won't like it if you touch them there...if they like you. If your friendship with them is low, they won't shy away from letting you touch these extremely dangerous things.
>>
>>28610891
Like when you touch Gardevoir's tits
