Haven't you people looked at any official art within the last fifteen years? It's not based off Pokespe or the anime. It's based off the official game design. Pikachu always have oval shaped heads innthe games. It's the anime that has the wrong design.

But all Pikachu's designs are all cool though. I don't see the problem with them using more than one of those designs
