Also luck. Today alone I got like 50 Dratini candy because I hatched 2 of them from 10ks. But yeah, I've caught 120+ Dratinis and it's about 6-8 minutes of walking for each one that spawns by the beach.

Walkfag'ed it up by the Chicago river branch by North Park University, and we got a spot by Pratt Beach by us. Not a nest, but the frequency was high enough so the Drats I got were baller. Hatched a Drat for the candy to make that 3rd one.

I'm not sure if I should make duplicates (and risk getting shit moves and wasting candy) or wait for gen 2 and Espeon, Umbreon, Politoad, Belossom etc

For bigger dragonites i use my dewgong or lapras for prestige. Because dragonites occasionally spawn here lots of ppl have baby ones and these frozen clams are kill even against nidoking

I match type and try to use a mon with a CP lower than the defenders to get maximum gain for minimal resources.

I don't think anyone who regularly trains does this it becomes incredibly tedious. I always try to fight versus half the CP of the defending pokemon so I can gain 1k prestige or more per fight.

So yes, I try to match type and such as well. For instance today I found a gym that was in a city but inconveniently placed off a frontage road and it was level 9 at 41k prestige. At the bottom of the ladder was a 1650 Slowbro, not the best to train against.

So I looked through my guys and matched him up with 980 likitung with lick (ghost) and power whip (grass) to take it down. You have to dodge pretty much every attack especially the charge moves or you will get toasted.

The likitung appraised as 'decent'.

My point is that a decent vs a perfect mon will allow you a larger buffer- in getting up to like 10 more hp and taking a point less dmg, you can survive several more dodged attacks and you gain a little bit of wiggle room for messing up and failing to dodge / being unable to during a special.

Plus, sometimes it means the difference between being able to barely scrape by 2 defenders instead of 1.

Is it an end all be all and ESSENTIAL? Absolutely not, player skill is much more important. Can it situationally make a difference or simply allow me to relax? Quite definitely.

Is the main reason for wanting something at least able to "battle with the best of them" my autism? Yea, verily.

Some other features not mentioned I can think of are showing titles of media linked from other sites eg. Youtube, Souncloud, Twitter etc. instead of their URL, can also embed them all, it can also list only the images from threads, handles images and webms much better than native (again you can just hover the cursor to expand/play them.

It's also has tons of options to customize it to your preferences.

How important is Defense compared to HP? I caught a Dragonite with 15Atk/0Def/14HP ivs. It's got Dragonbreath and Dragon Pulse as it's moves.

Well we know the mon is chosen at the time the egg is acquired. An egg picked up at level 18 will give you a level 18 mon for instance, and the 'date acquired' and location (when that worked) was the pokestop where egg came from.

What are the deciding factors for what makes a best Defender moveset? If I'm understanding it correctly, it's because the AI doesn't care about DPS it just uses attacks at a set rate, so it's best to have fast attacks with high base damage and charge moves with high damage per rate of charge (i.e. Vaporeon being a better defender with Water Pulse than Hydro Pump), but then I run into exceptions like Snorlax who still do better with Hyper Beam over Body Slam, or Poliwrath with Hydro Pump.

Random, I got a lvl 1 dragonite with only 47 of CP but when trying to catch it with my friend's phone it was in the 500s (I was helping him hatch some eggs) So I caught it before even looking at it with his account and my account is of higher level so there was no specific reason for mine dragonite to be weaker than his. Its a few thinggs. Since it attacks at a set rate speed doesnt matter damage does. You also get double meter as well as HP so the shorter meters tend to fill up a lot and get spammed more often so sometimes they can overtake bigger moves in overall damage by blasting out out 50 some odd damage 3 times compared to one Hyper Beam. Theres also a couple weird instances where a move might get extra usage like Ice Beam on a Water Pokemon like Slowbro or Golduck to counter the inevitable Grass types the opponent sends after you

Oddishes are commonish just north of the river and bellsprout are very common like eevee in the loop. Was at buckingham fountain ealier, thats as far south as ive been but i could see the planetarium from there.

How many pokehunters are at adler park? What time does the park close? Ive been meaning to go down there with gf multiple times but navy pier is just so close to me.

Does it have enough pokestops? I ran out of 300 balls in navy pier twice now but im set with watermon. Dont need more than 6 golducks and slowbros cloysters etc. Just go there to farm dust and the 4 stops at the end are constantly lured + you can drink beer and smoke cigs while fishing.

Adler is usually packed with people but not unpleasantly so.It stays open until about 11.Its got a much better variety than Navy Pier and the Pokestops are arranged in a nice ring around it with one in the middle and another one near the statue in front.

The best shit spawns in the NW portion between the statue and and the top of the circle.Theres pretty good stuff around the area as well but keeping focused on the Planetarium itself seems to work out best.The variety is wild and ive gotten everything from Mankey to Grimer to Growlithe to any of the four starters along with all the stuff at Navy Pier

there's a nest at the nearby park but there's also a spot where rare pokemon spawn and they rotate with the nest migrations. I don't know what the first spawns were because I moved in recently for uni but the second nest was a Growlithe one with a spot that spawned Scythers once an hour at XX:07
It's now a Poliwag nest and that spot spawns Electabuzz

I am literally the one person who isn't Valor who even bothers beating gyms in my area.

If i dont take over gyms for 3 days they turn into lvl10 Valor shitfests. Fuck this game and fuck how unbalanced it can be in certain areas.

Yes but what can you do? On top of that when people can access a gym from home, they're just gonna keep the gym for their team all the time.
I had to join mystic because they own the gyms around where I live like 80% of the time.
If you can only get the legendary bird attached to your team, I'm not mad to have made that choice though.

It's easier to beat down enemy gyms than to earn prestige for own, and noone here is able to keep them for more than a day

Gyms are nice for coins, but my area has Mysticfags that fill vehicles and drive through town to claim gyms if they get taken

Really makes me uninterested in that aspect of the game

I'd like to see a system where gyms are harder to take over - even if you win battles, but actually winning gains you xp and coins - so the enemy gym could be still usable for players of other teams.

The team that controlls gym should ofc gain additional awards.
