RNG in Emerald doesn't work. Each trainer/account has its own shiny frame (like, if frames begin as soon as you boot up your game), so you could feasibly SR for a shiny Rayquaza, but if your frame is two hours in, you're likely to never encounter it...since you'll be doing SRs at approximately the same frames each time.

You have a great attitude. I like it. Unfortunately, I was considering doing the same in my Omega Ruby, but I gave in and eventually SR'd for the genies. Dialga would be pretty neat to SR for, or Lugia, but if you do SR for the latter, make sure you're bringing something with Heal Pulse as Lugia only has 5 PP per move. I plan on purchasing a second copy of AS just to get the AS-exclusive legends instead of resetting my current file.

I forgot that there was a Gen 5 event for those. Premier Ball looks amazing on Lugia, but it's up to you if you still want to use some before resorting to the Master Ball. It really makes a difference with the charm, but it's ultimately based on how much you value having a dex, and it's going to make much more sense in the long run to go for a living dex anyway.

I've done a few MMs without my shiny charm. My first was 10 boxes, one was 83, one was 13, and the other was 40. Now I'm 7 boxes into my first hunt with the charm.

With that said, if you're at all close to the charm, get that first as it'll make your other hunts faster and save you time in the end.
