Reposting since last thread was pretty much over.

So after watching the SM preview again we see that Ash doesn't have the Z-Bracelet while running away from Bewear or while facing off against the Skull members.

But he does have it while entering the classroom with Kukui.

I think I've figured out how the first 1-2 episodes will go.

Ash arrives in Alola with Pikachu and goes into the city to have fun with Pikachu, Sharpedo riding, watching Poplio swim, etc. Then, while on the beach he see's Team Skull causing problems and winds up battling them in front of Kiawe. Since Topu Koko is likely to appear in the start, Ash hears that Team Skull mention it and Kiawe tells him about it.

This gets Ashs curiosity up so he and Pikachu head into the forest to look for it. Out in the forest he winds up finding Bewear and starts to run away, but unable to get away he stumbles upon Kukui who is out researching or with TopKek possibly.

In immediate danger, Kukui hands Ash the Z-Ring so that he can fight off Bewear with Pikachu. Then, seeing Ash able to pull of the move and defeat Bewear smoothly he invites Ash to the Pokemon School to learn.

Every series has quality, the thing about XY was that most of the time you could pause the series and it wouldn't be a QUALITY shot. In just the 30 second trailer for SM we've seen solid animation but a retarded looking Ash.

If it follows in the steps of Mega Evolution and what we saw of that, if a Pokemon and its Trainer don't have a strong enough bond or the Pokemon itself isn't strong enough to control the power I could see Z-Moves failing.

Like, you wouldn't see a freshly hatched baby Pokemon being able to pull off a Z-Move right? I feel like a Pokemon is going to have to be properly trained and experienced to use one.

The animation and fluidity is a result of the art style though. It's a lot easier to animate well with this kind of art style where you can very quickly draw Ash versus the XY style where it takes a while to draw each frame properly.

So, I think I'm tsun for Sun and Moon.

But now I think I'm actually liking the direction its taking. Because, in a word, the show looks "fun". That's it. Ash may look goofy as fuck, but Rica is still Rica. Listen to the moment Ash uses the Z-Move, that sounds like something he'd shout in XY.

Lillie is also pretty cute and all we've heard her say is "Doragun degeso", imagine what happens when we see her for the first time with more then a single word?

The battles, if Pikachu's Quick Attack is anything to go by shows us that we should expect more XY tier battles, just styled differently.

The beautiful art that XY had for backgrounds is back in Sun and Moon, it's not that trash BW art but the great work from XY. Again slightly different in style but it looks good.

And this teaser has only given us 21 SECONDS of the anime. 21 SECONDS! Have we even been shown who animated those scenes? Imagine those moments like where Serena won her first TriPokalon or Ashs close ups during the VS Shota battle. If we get budget blowing moments similar to those in Sun and Moon the show will still be beautiful and the moments we get the budget blowing events will be highlight tier.

I don't know, I'm excited. I was super excited when I saw the corocoro poster then right after the anime teaser I was disappointed, but now that I've had time to think about it I think Sun and Moon could and will likely be a blast. It won't be XY tier seriousness, but just a fun adventure through the islands. Just imagine the first time this nigga shows up, it'll be hilarious and potentially exciting as it fights Topu Keku.

Did anybody ever claim that there wasn't QUALITY in XY? No shit there was QUALITY in XY just like there is in every series. XY wasn't the perfectly drawn or animated series, but it was definitely better animated and drawn than most series.

We've seen 30 seconds of SM and Ash looks absolutely retarded. The animation looks slightly better at the cost of the art looking just bad. The trade off absolutely isn't worth it.

The one hope i have for Ash's design in SM, is that they fix it slowly over time, seriously they just have to make a few minor detail changes like his facial marks being made smaller, maybe sharper eyebrows and making his grins a tad smaller since they seem too large right now, if they can do that they could possibly make most complaints about his design go away.
