Can we take a minute to pay respects to what is one of the strongest types in the game on paper being held back by not having a single legitimately good nonlegendary Pokemon?

>Electivire - a physical electric type, which is fundamentally shit because Wild Charge is shit, TPunch is weak and all better moves are restricted to singular Pokemon; kinda saved by mixed potential and great coverage

>Emolga - shitmon lmao
>Galvantula - decent dual STAB, coverage (Giga Drain), ability (Compound Eyes + Thunder) and support moves (Sticky Web); overall decent mon despite low BST, but frality is still a problem

>Jolteon - abysmal coverage (Signal Beam) unlike the above and limited support movepool, its only saving grace is its speed
>Lanturn - finally an Electric type with Ice Beam (but only because it's part-Water, lmao GF), but it's a case of lowBST mon that pays for its bulk with bad attack AND speed; only usable as a defensive pivot
>Luxray - a shittier Electivire
>Magnezone - dual STAB walled by other Electrics and no coverage to redeem it; slow as fuck, limited support options, only ever used because Magnet Pull is totally competitive unlike Shadow Tag
>Manectric(-M) - Flamethrower is legit, but doesn't save it from being one of many special Electric types that rely on Hidden Power to threaten any Ground types

>Plusle/Minun - shitmon lmao
>Raichu - an inferior Heliolisk

I guess I could also write a paragraph about Zekrom being a two trick pony, but that's a large enough wall of text already. TL;DR most Electrics have shitty movepools and lack good ways to threaten Ground types that don't even let them Volt Switch out. 60BP Hidden Power is only good if you hit a quad weakness and you need to make a choice between Grass and Ice for that, unless GF gods gifted you with actual Grass coverage. Electrics also tend to have unimpressive support movepools, very few of them can make for effective stallers.

The only electric type I routinely use is Thundurus. It's fast, hits hard, it's immune to ground and has a great movepool, along with Prankster. It's amazing on doubles/triples too.
