They're not native and they'd cause a lot of damage if they got established. Plus they get 3ft ish/1m ish across and they'll scavenge just about anything. Foreign hermit crabs are banned since they'd mess with the native ones, and this is a giant land hermit crab. I'd hate to imagine something like that rummaging through my trash/ in my yard. They can easily snap off fingers according to my grandma from Okinawa, so it'd also be a nightmare for kids/ pets. Other pacific islands can handle them somehow and they fit the tropical theme, so I think they fit sun and moon though.

A somewhat speedy special oriented fighting/steel mantis shrimp. Mantis Shrimp are already pretty damn fast animals as is and their snap burst is obviously based on how fast they can close their claw. Its not super fast because it's hindered by its metal body but gets access to a priority steel special move (preferably one just introduced in gen 7 rather than a signature (unless one exists and I'm forgetting)) and vacuum wave, and maybe technician.

Obviously this is not the fate of crabrawler, who isn't a mantis shrimp and appears physical oriented anyways and is probably going to stay fighting or surprise us all with fighting/grass because coconut crab>coconut tree>trees are plants, but it would make for a neat version exclusive opposite.

There is a big ban list, but department of agriculture doesn't really check fish that well at least from my experience because it's humbug with little urgency compared to snakes or Arthropods. You see koi ponds with pacu despite a ban on them. Freshwater stingrays are a instant seizure though according to the aquarium, but I've seen people with all kinds of shit.
The weird foreign animals that pop up are half the fun. It's neat to see where they establish themselves and the history behind it if they're not really a threat to the native stuff.
