GSC/HGSS are the only Pokemon games that punish you for trying to build a full team. Not. Only that but it has nearly no variety in Pokemon until you're past the fourth gym. The only thing Johto has going for it atmosphere.

IM SORRY?! BARREN REGION. Johto is by far the best designed region. BY FAR. its not got any graphical issues ie Unova, and its not as boring as Kalos and isnt as water as hoenn. The pokemon distribution makes rare pokemon actually feel rare. I cant comment on the level curve because i dont care

I've played BW2 and its post game is worse than HGSS.

I thought HG/SS were the best but then White came out and now that's my all-time favorite.

While I don't think OR/AS was better, I did grow to appreciate the differences it took, rather than redo things like HG/SS did.

But who knows, maybe the Gen 4 remakes will be better.

Why? All of the kanto dungeon areas were minimized or removed entirely. This was something that bugged me when i played as a kid.

And even then B2W2 is goat for having an actual hard mode. Thats it. and since no other games can compete with that it's earned it's spot at the top.

Am I the only one that preferred the original 2nd gen over the HG/SS remakes? I mean, they weren't bad but I'm not a fan of the pokemon following gimmick and the 4th gen engine was shit (so abysmally fucking slow). Crystal is still my GOAT.
