How do we fix the grass type /vp/? My thoughts:
>No longer weak to flying.
>No longer not very effective on flying and steel.
>Now takes half damage from fairy.
>HP is restored by 1/16th every turn in rain and sunlight.
Would that do it? Too much? Too little?inb4 "ice needs it more"

Too much.

I don't get why grass would change its relationship with flying or steel. I agree that grass should resist fairy though and the healing in sun and rain is a really cool idea!
grass has potential to be a good defensive type. give it a resistance to rock and fairy.

Something like that should be reserved for abilities though, not just handed to an entire type. Not taking damage in either hail or sand is one thing, but regaining health in two of the four weather types is ridiculous.

The only IRL reason why grass would be weak against flying is because some birds eat crops, with I think is kinda weak. I guess trees get knocked over when there is wind, but so do lots of other things.
As for steel I guess because nature eventually reclaims abandoned areas relatively quickly. So it would be neutral but not weak against it. But mostly I didn't want grass to still be NVE on 6 types even after changing flying, and I couldn't justify the others.
Grass is my go to defensive type, what it needs is more walls.
Gimme a Grass/Electic with filter.
Bug needs it more Ho

Rock types have their special defence boosted by 50% in sandstorm, so that's not unprecedented.
Sunlight also strengthens fire while rain weakens synthesis and strengthens hurricane, so there's risk to it as well.
>Lose flying weakness
>Better moves to play off the whole "draining" gimmick, maybe a draining version of Spiky Shield
>Chrolophyll doubles both speed and Att/Sp. Att
>Leaf Guard prevents not only status conditions but residual damage in Sunny Weather, such as Life Orb, recoil moves and if you're feeling particularly crazy, entry hazards
You know what the big problem is? Sunlight. They have to share their weather boosters with their direct counter.

I made a monster.
But I fixed UU! Yay!

Grass/Electric isn't that good as a defensive type.
>2x to fire, ice, poison and bug.
>0.5x to water, grass and steel.
>0.25x to electric.

Reminder they also said with Filter, an ability that reduces damage from SE moves. Those types would only be doing 1.5x damage.

Oh, true.
It still still has 4 weaknesses and 4 resistances, so it wouldn't be that good of a wall without good bulk.
Since a lot of water types also have ice moves, they be weak to the type it's supposed to hard counter.

We assume it has leech seed, Anon. Not a far reach for a hypothetical wall.
