They're not version exclusive. It's the same pokemon but it has a different form and possibly type based on whether you evolve it during the day or during the night. It's basically like Burmy/Wormadam

It didnt say they were exclusive did it? Just showed the different evos in the different games. Makes sense for normal doggo to be shown in sun while having the other one in moon since the time mechanic emphasizes their evolutions

Espeon and Umbreon are different pokemon, in Rockruff's case it's the same one ( Lugarugan for both form ). That's why I chose Wormadam since it's still the same pokemon

The 12 hour cycle is not useless because Rockruff is version exclusive; the last fucking trailer said that different plot-centric events happen at different times during gameplay from sun to moon.. Probably.... I don't know maybe.... Something to do with the respective box legendary?
