Agree wholeheartedly OP. That Inferanpe Vs. Electivire match was really intense and emotional, I was actually really invested in it. A far cry from the fancy pyrotechnics of the soulless XY fights: all flash, no substance. Smogonfrog is a goddamn jobber, dont care what anyone else thinks.

Colega, el equipo de DP ni siquiera estaba totalmente evolucionado, su liga no fue para tanto (la de XY solo falla en el final, y llegó más alto que la de DP), Infernape es verdaderamente el copo de nieve único y especial porque tiene una versión chetada de su habilidad SIN NINGUNA RAZÓN (mientras que lo de Greninja es otra mecánica que pueden poseer otros pokémon, según el profesor, como la Megaevolución). Deja de chupar la polla de la cuarta generación, el anime de XY es el mejor hasta la fecha incluso con la derrota de Ash en la liga (nada más hay que ver el actual arco del Team Flare).

Honestly?

I wholeheartedly agree. Even if it may be overrated, I truly think that Ash's Infernape vs. Paul's Electivire is the best fight in the entire series, and the DP series as a whole is pretty great. Infernape vs. Electivire holds so much emotional weight for me. Here you have this Infernape, formerly abused and beaten down as a Chimchar at the hands of Paul, then taken in by Ash and raised with love and care, facing off against his former trainer. Ash finally beats his rival, Infernape stands up against its former trainer and proves that Ash's method of training is what makes him victorious, and even then it was a very close fight. Paul may be ruthless, but he's still a skilled enough trainer to get that far and bring the battle down to the wire. While Ash's competency may be debatable in other series, here he was at his finest. He developed unique and unorthodox strategies (one of which Paul even adopted too), and he even fully evolved a bunch of his Pokemon. The fact that it took an edgelord with Legendaries (two of which were defeated thanks to Ash's Pokemon, also he turned his hat around after so long which was cool) to finally stop Ash. Honestly, Ash was at his peak here.

I can't get over how great the DP series was. BW a shit and XY was... well, it looked nice, and it seemed so promising. I thought it'd be the second coming of DP. But... no.

The whole league was awesome. Nando and Conway were great recurring characters and their battles allowed some older mons to shine. The whole Paul battle was hype. And even Tobias in retrospect was good. It literally took a guy with legendaries to stop Ash. The fact that literally no one else managed to beat even a single Pokemon (even the finalist got swept by Darkrai) whereas Ash beat two legendaries was amazing.

XY was good, way better than BW. I'd rank it about equal to AG, depending on my mood.

It pisses me off that Greninja almost took out Diantha's Gardevior in synchro but couldn't beat Mega Zard X with a perfect synchro. Not to mention how everything pointed towards a Kalos win. So yeah, I found the DP series vastly superior, even without all of that.
