I'm not gonna defend it necessarily, but they added 130~ Pokemon in Gen III which even if you take out the dupes in the OP you still get double the amount Gen VI added. Never really bothered me.

The only thing I'd even want to change regarding those six Pokemon would be to remove either Cascoon or Silcoon and have the evolutionary line split there rather than with Wurmple and just have the two separate moth forms. No need for two useless Coccoons.

I like the Latis, it was cool they were exclusive to each respective game. The last cool roaming legends.

And I vehemently hate Pikaclones, but I think Plusle and Minun are the most acceptable ones and there was at least a purpose having two of them, to introduce players to double battles, so whatever.

So does Raikou, Entei and Suicune.
So does Regice, Regirock and Registeel
So does therian formes of Tornadus, Thundrus and Landorus

BUT!

Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf, on the other hand, have the same body shape. And the same eyes (except for blind Uxie)
So does usual formes of Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus.

If one of them being thin, other being fat and third being short - I wouldn't complain at all.
But they differs in very, VERY small details.
