I defeated Bugsy and got his/her/xer/xis/its gym badge. Bugsy put a really good fight almost taking Deku out of the battle, And once again during this battle sludgebomb did alot of damage, So spooky early in the game, If it ended up critting it would take out a team member without a doubt.

Then Lildick, my rival tried to mug me but he stood no chance against my team, although I think one of my pokemon got low. Once I get out of the Ilex forest i'm gonna defeat all trainers in the area once again before reaching Goldenrod. Then Visit the National Park and the route adjacent to it, still capturing my one pokemon per route and taking out all trainers. Then when all my pokemon are equalized in level I'll take on Whitney and her gym.

In the Ilex forest I captured Cordyceps the Paras. Also on my Current team should I teach cut to Woody replacing razor leaf (55bp to 60) or should I teach it to Tina? (Vicegrip, Crabhammer, Harden, Leer)
>>
Can't be bothered to make a new template.

HeartGold run. No items of any kind during a battle, no overleveling past the opposing Gym Leader, party size must match opposing Gym Leader,

I'm in Goldenrod now. I worry about Whitney. Here's my party:

- Level 18 Croconaw: he knows Scary Face, Bite, and Rage. I was thinking maybe I could use Scary Face to slow down her Miltank, and them spam Bite and make her flinch. Alternatively use Rage against Rollout, but I'm thinking I would die fairly quickly.
- Level 19 Geodude: he knows Magnitude, Rock Throw, Rock Polish, and Defense Curl. He would be a damage dealer, probably use Rock Polish to speed him up, Defense Curl to toughen him up, and then attack away. Would most likely start the fight.
- Level 12 Zubat: Supersonic and nothing else of use. Will need to see if he learns something interesting by the time he is level 19, but I doubt it. And I don't see the point in risking him against a Miltank that knows Rollout. He would absolutely need to confuse it on first try, and if he doesn't, I basically lose the fight already.
- Level 15 Rattata: Headbutt, Bite, Quick Attack, Focus Energy. He shares the strengths of Croconaw (good moveset) but the weaknesses of Zubat: he will probably die very quickly.

Again, I can only use two of these against Whitney. At the moment I'm thinking Geodude first, Croconaw second.

I've had quite a few losses in this Platinum run, but I'm really serious-ing up now. I also got a Lucky Egg from a Chansey, so grinding will be a bit easier. I have 4 badges, with Crasher Wake being next, so I was thinking of taking out Budew and something else.

He does.

A shame about that dead Shinx anon. You're gonna struggle there.
>>
>>28445681

Okay, fuck it!

Here's what I'm rolling with:

- Level 19 Rattata: Sucker Punch, Headbutt, Bite, Hyper Fang
- Level 19 Geodude: Magnitude, Rock Throw, Rock Polish, Defense Curl

Order:
- Geodude 1st
- Rattata 2nd

Strategy:

- Use Geodude for as much as possible, let Rattata finish off Miltank if necessary

So I'm in a bit of a predicament.

None of my pokemon can learn waterfall and I don't have any available areas to catch one that can.

What do? Is it game over by TKO?
>>
>>28446770
hm slaves are permited outside the normal catching rules to progress in the game as long as they never ever fight, and if they do, then yeah its a TKO
>>
>>28446632

This is so much BULLSHIT.

Geodude literally kept using Magnitude 5-6, IT NEVER WENT ABOVE THAT.

Attract+Stomp+Milk Drink is such a bullshit moveset to have as well, it just Attracts you, stomps you into flinching thanks to its magical cow speed? and then uses Milk Drink in between to heal. Rattata got flinched by Stomp and was unable to Hyper Fang it. Now I have two less Pokémon, and I'm already guessing I will lose this run to this fucking cowbitch.

Unfortunately, Wildfire had to die to Claire's Kingdra.
>Gyarados cheeses first 5 pokemon with dragon dance+ice fang (and a cheri berry)
>back to +0 from intimidates and kingdra comes out
>ice fang leaves it with 70% and kingdra uses swagger
>don't risk so I switch in Swampert who took a crit sniper dragon pulse and lived on 11 HP
>switched to Weezing, took half from dragon pulse
>wildfire comes out and eats dragon pulse, haban berry reduces damage so wildfire has about 65% left
>actually outspeeds and dragon claws
>kingdra lives in the low orange
>wildfire takes a blizzard to the face and dies
>clean up with drapion banded poison jab
We did all these other things and now we're on our way back to Newbark town. do I need whirlpool for victory road? I can teach it to politoed who hits enough with hyper voice/surf/ice beam but I would prefer not to if I could avoid it.

Just got through the bridge, Tyranitar's Sandstream, Exeggutor's bulk, and a bag full of Full Restores got us through Shauna's Sylveon, rest of the team went down pretty easily. Tierno gave us some difficulty, but Pangoro came through in the clutch with some PUP boosted Arm Thrusts and Sucker Punches. Trevor made the mistake of healing the team, I would have wiped out had it been three in a row. Training for a bit before I move on, Bridge Battle was too close of a call.

We have reached Ecruteak City, but we lost a good soldier in the process. In crossroad of Route 36 we were ambushed by a camouflaged Sudowoodo who took down Ensign Bellsprout in one move. We captured the bastard and will start interrogating it to find out what it knows.

In the mean time we need to call in one of the recruits and prepare ourselves for the skirmish against Commander Morty's Ghost Troops.

While looking searching for a good replacement for Ensign Bellsprout the pencil-pushers at HQ decided to put us at an handicap by assigning some brass' kid to our squad. We're here to fight a war, not run some bloody day care center. I don't care if this kid dies from their own mistake, but if said mistake costs one of my men their lives I swear there will be hell to pay.

Despite this set back it was time to take on Commander Morty and secure Ecruteak City. Hopefully the Cadet learned something from watching the men in action. Admiral and the Nighthawk were able to scout out and take down the Ghost squadron before they could cause any problems.

With Ecruteak City under our control we can start planing our next step. Either head west and take out Commander Chuck and Jasmine or east and defeat Commander Pryce.

"In war, whichever side may call itself the victor, there are no winners, but all are losers."

What's the general consensus on trading(then trading back) to evolve in Nuzlockes? I've seen a few comics where they just had a friend help or did it themselves. I have a Haunter to evolve, but I don't want it to seem like I'm cheating.
>>
>>28456712
it's pretty okay with me
i've never done it because i'm a filthy emulatorfag and i'm too dumb to know how to patch games so that trade evolutions would happen at certain levels but i would if i could

>>28456654
do you change the names of your pokemon as they "move up the ranks" or so to speak?
>>
>>28451734
They are as long as none of your pokemon can learn the HM

If your precious starter could learn waterfall and you "didnt wanted to ruin his moveset", it wouldn't.
>>
>>28456712
No one should penalized by nintendo's dumb decisions

If its your pokemon and you're getting it back it looks okay to me. Trading other people pokemon into your game is what breaks the second rule in my opinion but i'm sure a lot of chumps will try to justify as "hurrrr the rule says nothing about trade pokemon only about the ones i catch there's literally nothing wrong about my friend trading me an Arceus"
>>
>>28456844
>>28457050
Cool, thanks. That makes me feel better about it.
>>
>>28456844

I usually go by the rule of if I'm unable to continue due to HM moves being blocked I call it a Game Over. Same thing if I'm surfing, my surfer dies and I'm unable to teach anyone else on my party Surf or leave the area any other day.
>>
>>28457142
That's a dumb rule, specially in games like gen 3 that have bazillion HMs. if you got screwed by encounters and don't have enough people to use all the stupid HMs you shouldn't be penalized for it with a game over
>>
reminder that nuzlockes are codes of honor and you're welcome to play it however you want
>>
>>28457310
>reminder that nuzlockes are codes of honor and you're welcome to play it however you want

so i can keep my dead pokemon alive and catch whatever i want and still be nuzlocking right?

dont be ridiculous. nuzlocke is a challenge and it has two simple but clear rules. if you're not following then you're not nuzlocking, you're doing something else. i have no idea why this is so hard to understand for people in this thread. maybe its touching some pride wound of theirs.
>>
>>28456921
I see. I am tired of having my Pokemon's movesets be ruined by HMs and wanted to play with all four moves in mind on everyone so I just caught some low level mons that can learn them. Guess that's just a justification on my part but who cares really.
>>
>>28457268
If you get screwed by a random crit and your Pokemon dies because of a sudden and unexpected damage increase, do you let that Pokemon live? You shouldn't be penalized for it with a dead Pokemon.

The game screws you constantly, and part of a Nuzlocke challenge is to roll with the hits and move on until you either win or get defeated. My rule is an added challenge and I've Nuzlocked the 5 first gens, but I've never lost due to that rule yet. I just feels like it's more aligned with the spirit of a Nuzlocke than catching additional Pokemon or using Pokemon that are considered dead to beat the game.

It's all a matter of playing the game your way.
>>
>>28457635
crits are part of the game, failing the game because you don't have one mon to learn stupid Waterfall isn't

if you want to force yet another arbitrary shit upon you that's your call
>>
>>28457676
And if you want to catch more than one Pokemon per route for an easier time, that's yours.
>>
>>28457914

Don't take the wrong impression, i never tried to argue. Discussing with autists never achieves anything. If you're so dead set on your stupid arbitrary rules that were never part of the original nuzlocke and want to shoot anyone else down as not being TRVE NUZLOCKERS nothing i can say will change your stupid mind, so i might as well point and laugh at your idiotic impositions and how you feel better for doing them

call me a cheater, but due to unpredictable level spikes, I added BS clause that allows me to retry a fight if I get a team wipe in a boss fight because of those. Had to use it twice, against Shadow Clamp Skarmory and water gym-leader (srsly, lv.30 starmie when the gym minions are unevolved 23's?)

Well this shit just keeps getting worse. First thing today was battling Cyrus in Celestic Town, and I lost another teammate to the fickle hand of Lady Luck when I made what I thought would be a safe switch to try and get Lillie some experience.

My reserves are running low, and I still don't have a flyer. Gonna have to be extra careful or I may lose this run too.
>>
>>28459471

I don't use it out of convenience, but out of "I don't want have 20 duplicated Pokémon, whether they are Heracrosses or Magikarps".
>>
>>28459558

this

there was some guy here last week who was throwing an autismfit over dupes clause thinking people only use it to abuse the system and it's like

no, dude, its that nobody wants their nuzlocke to be starter + three pidgeys + two rattattas
>>
>>28459558
I'm not necessarily attacking you, but no dupes is pretty easy to cheese when you know the encounters of the area. If i catch a zubat on dark cave for instance, i pretty much guarantee a good encounter for most of the mid-end game caves. You can easily get heracross this way too because headbutt encounters are pretty limited and the other mon is the common one from day or night. The list goes on.

"but without no dupes clause every game is a team with 6 rattatas!"

false. there are plenty of routes (specially in later games) and plenty of pokemon. i never used no dupes clause and still had diverse teams the same way. you're not forced to use any eventual pidgey or rattata you find anyway, just forfeit the route if it bothers you that much. you won't get 50 mons in your box when you end the game, but you don't need them anyway

>>28459594
My rule is a three-strike clause. If repeated encounters three times in a route, no catch for the silly trainer. This avoids abuse.

>>28459391
I meant "never played it before, no guides allowed". I got stuck for a long while after getting Rock Smash, who'd think you go to that route only to get the Strenght HM which is completely out of your way and backtrack 3 routes to get to a new city?

Now I'm unsure if I should go for the gym. I know it's a Grass/Flying duo, but the amount of shit this game throws (except for the normal gym, maybe; the only weird thing was that Hydro Pump Porygon-Z, did they cut a slack?) makes me worried

>>
>>28459669

Don't worry, it's just that I don't think of the dupes clause as a devil.

>but no dupes is pretty easy to cheese when you know the encounters of the area

That's down to the trainer, though. I started the game at night two days ago, and naturally I kept seeing Hoothoots after Hoothoots and Spinaraks. I catched whatever I could catch.

Then yesterday I played during the day and catched more Pokémon, including a Spearow. I never caught that Spearow thinking "oh, my chance to catch a Heracross has arrived".

About dupes, you would be suprised how many you can encounter if you don't use a hack. I've skipped at least one Rattata, one Hoothoot, one Zubat, and one Geodude due to my rules. Diversity is key to enjoy Nuzlocke, and I don't enjoy rolling with an entire duplicate of my team.

>you're not forced to use any eventual pidgey or rattata you find anyway, just forfeit the route if it bothers you that much

But that would make the game unnecessarely hard on me.

Sleep is one of the worst status conditions to deal with in a nuzlocke. You could buy a lot of Awakenings/PokeFlute but they'll just use the sleeping move again next turn, essentially getting a free hit on you until you decide to heal/switch. Switching around a lot could be helpful but if you won't always have a decent counter against every sleep-inducer. If you don't have a good switch-in, staying in and trying to wake up would probably be smarter than spamming Awakenings and hoping for a miss but either way you're only going to get one hit off until they sleep you again.

Do people really do this?

I like to designate which of my mons I'm only using as HM bitches, but they're always legit first catches.
I'm pretty strict with myself and the base rules.
I feel like if you lost all your mons that could use an HM needed to progress, it "happened for a reason."
Which is why I always designate HM bitches to avoid that outcome.
With that said, this ROM I've been working on and am Nuzzing I made HMs deletable, to allow for more flexibility.
Especially since I made the overall game more difficult, and prone to wipes.

You can block certain parts of caves with some miners or whatever, certain grass areas with police lockdown etc.

HMs are literally the most retarded concept in pokemon. IT should be done like that: certain pokemon have ability (not THAT ability)to swim, others can fly etc. And once you cross certain plot point/wipe certain gym, you are tought how to train your pokes to use it. And then you can use any flying pokemon to fly around without it knowing fly, you can use any water/swimming pokemon to swim without it using swim, you can use any bulky/strong pokemon to move boulders without knowing strength etc.

Team update. Still can't bring myself to make a template, but here are the casualties so far:

- Lvl 17 Hoothoot: died to Silver's Bayleef in Azalea.
- Level 19 Geodude and Rattata: died to Whitney's bullshit Miltank.

I caught a few new Pokémon north of Goldenrod: a Pidgey inside the park, a Nidoran in the grass east of the park, and Sudowoodo. I missed an Abra in the grass south of there, sadly, but whatever.

I'm going to train these guys to level 20 before continuing on my journey, but I've already procrastinated for far too long and need to go back to studying. /endblog

Unfortunately, I caught El Rato on Route 22, but he was lost immediately after to a crit scratch from a Mankey we encountered. I like Rattata, but luckily I didn't get to know him well enough for it to hurt that bad. I got plenty of Antidotes now, so here goes Virdian Forest for real.

this also means i don't do the pinwheel clause bullshit so just be consistent imo

Just went through the sewers and caught a Grimer, a Rattata, and an Eevee which I nearly killed with a critical hit bite and then caught on my last pokeball after about 15 of them so fuck me. Gonna do some grinding and face Burgh now. Also, what should I evolve Eon into?

Roark fucked me over once again.

His Anorith used dig on my geodude, so I switched in Buttery to take the hit. I tried to use sleep powder but it missed somehow and bye bye Butterfree.

I'm sad now ;_;
>>
Fuck off, man. I just lost a lvl 19 Machop to a wild Pidgey lvl 15.

Machop missed THREE Karate Chops in succession from a single Sand-Attack. Three. And Pidgey killed him with a critical Gust.

I'm someone who tries to prevent losses from happening, but I can't prevent three failures in a row AND a critical Gust.

I was training a few Pokémon in that route, and I had only a Zubat that was weakened, a Bellsprout, I think Heracross was weakened too and Croconaw was sleeping (and weakened too).

Overall I won't miss that Machop, since I got Heracross, but I would have rather had that not happen at all.

Finished grinding for Gardenia's gym, Dirigible is there solely to soak Grass hits on switch-ins. I glanced over the Flawless Platinum changelog and why would you not buff the Hoppip line?? Evolves at 18 and still only knows Tackle for damage

Shellos has a Bug-type Hidden Power so hopefully she survives. Once I get Cut I'll snag something in the Old Chateau (Rotom is boring) and revive this Old Amber I found and be on my way south

Just had probably the best possible captures on Route 3 and Mt. Moon! Just did a lot of training to get the newbies up to speed.

I was worried about an answer for a Magnemite deeper in the mountain, but Big Bertha learned Double Kick, and is Adamant to boot.

Better yet, I somehow managed to get Reimi instead of a Zubat as my first encounter, and she's got effect spore, and is able to learn Bullet Seed. She'll be one of my answers to Misty if she can survive that long, I'll do everything I can to make sure she does. Team is cute as hell right now.

Hopefully gonna do that thing where the team enters Mt. Moon as kids, and emerges as a bunch of evolved beasts.

VICTORY ROAD WAS A MISTAKE REEEE

shhhh now, Aniki is sleeping :(

Not really ssure who should I take now with me to E4.

I'm mostly thinking about:

>Roarman
I have no fire-type coverage, and literally nothing that can hurt grass types for SE damage (poison is ineffective since most of them have dual typing, ice punch is held by blastoise)

>fa/tg/uy
Snorlax is just solid, bulky, versatile option.

>Murderbird
As said before - no flying or fire moves on my team.

>Rockbutt/APC
I lost strong physical attacker, they could fit that niche well, though I still have Evrytiem and Testudo to cover this.

>Spiritus
For shits & giggles. (though I already have ghost coverage)

>Zap Dog
BZZZZ (though I already have electric coverage)

It...it was a massacre

Roserade's Weather Ball was insane, I sacrificed Dirigible and Opal to wait out the sun. Squirt died to the prior trainer, I was admittedly stupid and let the Sunflora crit Mega Drain her.

Whatever I catch in either the Chateau or next route I'll use but one slot is definitely going to an Aerodactyl, it's a bit morbid to appreciate but it fills two of the three coverage types I've just lost
>>
I just got all done at the Pokémon Tower, obtained the Poké Flute from Fuji-San, and caught the Route 12 Snorlax whom I named Bundt (motherfucker had a Chesto Berry on him that I had no clue about, and him having Rest made this no easy feat). Should I continue down Route 12 to Fuschia, or should I go West from Celadon? I know both ways end up at Fuschia, but I haven't touched Kanto in so long, I've no clue which is the better option, but I'd have to guess that in the end, going through both is best to raise my Party.

>>

Thanks mang, My main concern right now is to not wipe to Misty, I think Reimi and Squirtle provide me a good chance not to, if they can survive the mountain!

As fer Kanto, I always go down Route 12 first, even though it makes sense to go down west Celadon due to the Bike path. If you're looking to raise up a Pokemon with Psychic type moves, west of Celadon is your best bet, there's so many poison types there.

I thought it was a nice touch, first off because a Bundt cake is a dessert, and second because they GG just finished their FR playthrough (however I spelt Bundt correctly). If anything, one of my next runs won't have a nickname theme, and I'll just go with names that come to mind, such as GG names, and/or references.

>>
>>28471206

Indeed. Sleep Powder has like 90% accuracy? (I didn't want to check on Bulbapedia, but it actually has 75%, so yeah, that's pretty fucking lucky)

Can we agree that Stun Spore is GOAT over Poison Powder and Sleep Powder, though? It doesn't wear off. It doesn't cause laughable damage to the opponent, but instead, gives you the change to do much more damage thanks to skipped turns. And it brings down the opponent's speed, allowing you to flinch it to death (maybe).

Stun Spore for battling, Sleep Powder for capturing, yeah

Let's recap quickly:
>travel down Cycling Road training up Geodude
>Minun Copycats Magnitude, killing Geodude
>forget completely about east of Eterna/Mt. Coronet, go for captures
>shitmons, Swablu and my newest Nosepass HM slave
>revive Old Amber
>catch Stunky below Cycling Road
>Beldum in Wayward Cave kills Nosepass and Aerodactyl before capture
>kill Gastly in Old Chateau

I'm really feeling this Fire weakness but I can't really do anything about it right now. Aerodactyl didn't even gain a level before he died I'm p upset desu

Thank God for remakes. This game has so many cool stuff I'm so glad Pokémon remakes exist in the first place. Game Freak just knows how to turn an incredible game into an even better one.

My only criticism so far in this blind playthrough is that there's a tendency to hold the hand of the player (like a hiker bumping into you and giving you the HM, whereas in Gen 2 you had to find it by entering a house).

Some of these changes are good, others are terrible, but I'm fucking loving it so far. 10 hours in already, and would be many more if I didn't have college related shit to do.

Gyarados will be really good. his flying type makes fighting not very effective. Donphan looks pretty good too, but keep him away from Poliwrath, Chucks ace. I was just doing some Googling about the Poison Type in Gen III, and I have to apologize. Only Grass Types are weak to it in LG, and like half of the Grass Types are Sub Poison Types. Poison Sting would've done close to nothing all game. In my mind, and STAB move is better than a not-STAB move, but Poison Types are just piss-poor in the offensive department, yet do specialize in defense. Sorry again, and have fun with Big Bertha.

Holy Flippin Moly. I nearly lost my most valued team member to gym leader clay's Sandslash. Maria the Azumarill.
Thanks to a fucking Krokorok, using Torment on me, i couldn't spam my Aqua tails through the match, and had to keep switching to work up between turns. i learned Aqua ring after defeating Krokorok, so i used that since i couldn't use aqua tail again.
might I just add that i'm holding leftovers, so i'm now getting health back from leftovers and aqua ring every turn now.
Sandslash starts a roll out going. I missed an aqua tail meaning i had to go for another work up and had to moo moo milk up. but just when all hope was lost, it missed rollout number 4.

They're all great coverage. I'd go with >>28477071 but it depends on your team.

I just got fucking wiped by Bugsy. Fucking piece of shit Scyther crit killed 4/6 of my mons after two Intimidates. Fuck this bullshit.

Pic for proof of fucking wipe. Complete bullshit, wish I had recording this. There were 8 crits that battle, all of them were his. I can't make this shit up.
>>
>>28477255

I'm dead convinced Dray fucks with crit rates in his hacks.
>>
>>28477273

Like... what the actual fuck. It's not like he used Focus Energy or anything, he just spammed Wing Attack/Quick Attack and got more crits than I've gotten this entire run. I just... Why. After losing 0 Pokemon, I get wiped by Bugsy. Just why.

I even brought in Gyarados on Scyther twice, didn't matter because of the crits. I've never lost a Nuzlocke this early before. Feels real bad knowing I had two Fire-types, a Jolly Zubat (RIP, was so excited to use), Jolteon, Intimidate Gyarados, and a Bibarel... And he crit 4/6 of them to kill them. The others got poisoned early on by Beedrill Sludge Bomb, died because they couldn't kill Scyther fast enough :/

Any suggestions on what I should do next? Retry or go for a different game/hack?
>>
>>28477373
normally i'd say retry but since you weren't too far in you should give it another go
>>
>>28477418

Definitely no way I can beat Bugsy. Boxed mons are Bellsprout, Wooper, Surskit, Gastly, Sandshrew, and Slakoth. I'd basically be committing suicide if I ran in there with those.
>>
>>28477451
Woops, forgot to include Wynaut and Ivysaur. But both of those are really bad choices too.
>>
Going to bed now. I might make a low-key "fun" template for this run later.

Oddish is Dark with 100 BP STAB Absorb but its special attack never seems to go up so I guess that's balanced.

Wooper is kind of awful but Ghost/Psychic goes really well with Oddish.

Magikarp has Brave nature and a super high attack stat but it's Grass-type and has Truant. Perfect.

>>28477226
>>28477373
Really unfortunate.
I would go with a different game, if I were you I'd be burnt out on SG/SS.
>>
>>28477451
wooper, slackoth and sandshrew could do quite well if you evolve them, they're all around level 20 evolution too so not too bad

really though if you don't feel like it then shouldn't bother

Claimed my first badge. Roxanne wasn't too difficult, her ace was a Skiploom that luckily had no grass moves yet so Veronika wrecked it with Powder Snow. But the easy match came with its price, Russet the Makuhita was OHKO'd by a Leer + Low Kick from her Mankey. RIP to the token male of the team, was really looking forward to using Hariyama

I was pretty pissed to find out Skitty can't learn Cut....so now my Chikorita is stuck with it for the majority of the game.

Just gotta rescue Briney's Peeko from the Aqua grunt and it's time to set sail for Dewford!
>>
>>28477570
You don't need cut to proceed through ruby, sapphire and emerald (unless you want extra items and berries etc...). Your now stuck with cut until you get to Lillycove city.

Since I randomized all the items, I don't wanna miss out on potentially finding a really good hold item. Plus I'm pretty autistic when it comes to ignoring field items. I'll survive with Cut on her moveset

No shit Sherlock, criticals are supposed to be random and you are supposed to be prepared against them unless the game actively conspirates against you (like how my Machop missed three Karate Chops in a row and a Pidgey killed it with a critical Gust).

Just wiped the floor with Silver in Ecruteak.

- Level 21 Weepinbeel
- Level 22 Stantler
- Level 22 Croconaw
- Level 22 Heracross
- Level 22 Golbat

Weepinbeel took out Ghastly after it was Mean Look'd. Then Stantler weakened Zubat before being confused, so I switched in Golbat and killed it. Then Heracross Brick Break'd Magnemite, and Golbat beat Bayleef effortlessly, confused the bitch so that it could stop spamming Synthesis and Reflect.

I swear Zubat has got to be THE example of a Pokémon sucking hard at the beginning, and becoming a total bro as it gets stronger. Almost like Magikarp, except Magikarp was deliberately designed as a shit mon that gets OP early on.

Blind Nuzlocke? Otherwise I can't explain how ridiculously underleveled you were. You never stood any chance at all. Gengar is just too fast if you give him an advantage.

The moment he used Thunderbolt and I saw your remaining Pokémon, I knew it was game over.

Meanwhile, I have to face Morty... in the vanilla game. My planned team for this match:

- Golbat
- Croconaw
- Stantler
- Haunter

Still got lots of leveling to do, though.
>>
>>28479879
i've played sacred gold before but i didn't remember his level ranges, i think i came pretty close to killing his gengar a few times in spite of the level differences but i just got unlucky

also good luck with your morty fight. remember to equip any chesto berries you have; maybe give one to croconaw so you could get a free scary face off? i think wade on route 31 gives chesto berries and you can also farm shards with rock smash at the ruins of alph, if you can be bothered waiting
>>
>>28480032

Yeah, Drayano's hacks (at least from my experience in FRO) are just too brutal to Nuzlocke, especially if you are underleveled, no matter how slightly.

I'll keep the chesto berry advice in mind! I don't want to lose Croconaw, and I was indeed thinking of using Scary Face to bring Gengar's speed down (and then most likely start using my entire team as a punching bag for his Hypnosis).
>>
Wiped to White 1's E4, holy shit what a ride.

After I left the Ilex forest I ran into a wild Ditto.... Which I accidentally ran away from. For fucks sake.

I arrived in Goldenrod and Recieved Sun Wukong the Chimchar (Even though I got Chimchar last time I played) But a new run is a new pokemon all together. I then captured Xander the Glameow on route 35, Growlie the Growlithe on Route 36 and Dinglebery the Burmy at the National Park.

After defeating all trainers in the Goldenrod Area I headed to back to Whitney (cleared the trash mobs) and challenged her. Fucking Pecker couldn't control his hormones and white-knighted the fucking enemy and ended up getting friendzoned to death. Deku had some close run ins with his hormones alas he prevailed and rock (Detroit) smashed our way to victory.

I decided to take Tali the Zubat has a replacement for Deku to use type priority while I can before shit hits the fan and I start to have overlapping types.

That feel when you think you have OBS open to record and convert to webm but you only clicked the shortcut once instead of twice.

I just checked what level Koga's Pokemon are going to be around, and I just have to say that it's quite the jump from Erika's Pokémon, or even the Pokémon from my first battle with Giovanni. Is this jump because they expect me to traverse both paths to Fuchsia City? I have no problem with it, but this just caught me off-guard, and just shows me I have a lot more training to do with my team.
