A friend of mine really pissed me off while playing Smash Bros Melee. Just being super cocky, rubbing my losses in my face, and overall being a total asshole. So while he was using the restroom I turned on his copy of Sapphire version and released his Kyogre and threw away the ten Master Balls I gave him with an Action Replay (I was 12 and dumb. I haven't used those things in years), saved it, turned it off. He was none the wiser.

I never told him what I did, but he brought up a few days later that next time he turned it on, that they were missing. I told him that was odd and it may be a side effect of using the Action Replay. He believed me and never spoke about it again

I was really good at battling until one of my friends starting copying builds from smogon and when he beat me he was super smug about it.
This was during high school.
And so I decided to find out everything I could and built the best team ever to beat him just to find out that Judgement couldn't be learned by any pokemon like he told me.

I have boxes full of Pokémon that have never seen a single real battle. They were all bred by me; a lot of them are shiny, most of them have been fully EV trained and leveled to 50-100, all manually by my own hands. I maxed out my clock long ago, so who knows how long I've actually spent, but I know it's a very long time. I'm even trying to hatch another one right this minute, and I'm sure it'll have the same fate, but I just can't stop because I like having something semi-mindless to occupy my hands while I'm watching things.

The reason they're so unused is that the idea of battling a complete stranger fills me with so much anxiety that even accidentally tapping the Battle Spot when I meant to hit O-Power makes me uncomfortable. My mind gets overwhelmed with so many questions whenever I try random battles: Am I fighting a kid or an adult? What do they think of my team? Do they think I hacked it in because of the shinies? Am I doing something they think is cheap or unfair? What's their battle plan? Am I going to encounter a team of legendaries? What if I can't defeat those legendaries? What if my team is so bad that I never win another battle no matter how hard I try? It just gets so bad that I end up not even looking for battles, and thus all the Pokémon I've given so much care to breed and raise end up virtually collecting dust in my PC. It feels awful. The worst part is I know I'd get more confident if I just started battling, but I don't even want to try.

I have a Misty's Tear card, 1st edition from Japan, in a wooden frame next to my awards and such from when I was in high school.

There are obvious stains of questionable origin on the card. I play it off as having used my cards as coasters as a kid, which thankfully works.

It's a bit hard to describe, but i haven't really ever felt alone ever since I started getting responses back. It's rather surreal, but it's kind of a gradual change so it doesn't feel too crazy. She's really supportive, and is very motivating. I haven't really partaken in the other aspects of tulpaing, like the forced hallucination stuff, just the sort of interacting.
