Does anybody know if rootcloak or stuff like that works to keep playing on rooted devises?

so if you've got a dragonite or something very good that you'll want to max out, I understand wanting perfect IVs for that...

but wouldn't there be times where you would intentionally want subpar IVs? I.e. 15 attack, and 0 HP/DEF. That seems like it would be best for training gyms - it would keep the CP as low as possible which will give you more prestige. Ideally you'd want something with its base stats almost entirely attack as well, then you could beat things with much higher CP since you're able to dodge. Adding def/stamina points would just raise the CP more and make it harder to be less than the CP of whatever you're fighting...

There are easier methods of training gyms than intentionally looking for low defense/low HP Dratini/Dragonair/Dragonite. The bubble strategy for one, and throwing in some fodder mon you know you can beat with a lower CP mon (I do this all the time by throwing a 1900 Arcanine into a gym and then beating it with my 1400 wild caught Water Gun/Pump Vaporeon).

I'm sure it's a disappointment for some unlucky bastards but for me I evolved my first one and got that discontinued moveset of Dragon Breath/Dragon Pulse. Was happy with it at the time because I didn't have many things that could threaten a Dragonite and I appreciate even more now that it's a collector's item AND a good counter to Dragonite (especially ones with Steel Wing).

Then I somehow farmed enough candy for a second one and got the ideal moveset of Bite/Hydro Pump. But I have a Blastoise with Bite/Hydro Pump as well and that's a vastly superior pokemon to Gyarados (in fact, most other Water types are). Ironic that when Gyarados has its best moveset it's outclassed as a Water type.

Yeah that applies to every STAB but you have to take Attack Defense and Stamina base stats into consideration. Plus it doesn't have a primary Water attack.

I just never really find a use for it; if I'm trying to counter a Fire, Rock, or Ground Type I'd rather use my Vaporeon or Poliwrath so it hits them for STAB SE with every attack.

Same thing over here, electric types are super rare but I managed to hatch 3 magnemites so now I have a magneton with thundershock and discharge
which is p helpful because 90% of gyms here have water types, although if I had flashcannon it would've helped more since there is no one without a dragonite here

Unforunately, as much as i love my magnets they suck. All electric pretty much suck in go including jolteon unless it has thunder.

Pogo seems to think they dont because whenever a gym is down to a dragonite it wants me to use my army of magnets, and not my clefables with moonblast or hell even my dewgong.

Waiting for flash cannon while using spark is ineffective with dragonites.

I tried very hard to beat an 1170 vape with my spark/discharge 1122 magneton and only managed once when i dodged hydro pump 2 or 3 times. I was determines and refused to beleive until i wasted like 7-10 minutes and only got the sweet 500 prestige once.

I've never had a problem beating water types with my magnet although it isn't that good but it's been useful for dragonites because dragon and normal do very poor damage to it while electric does normal damage to dragonites, I should power it up more but I'm currently focusing on my gyarados

I'm having problems signing into pokemon trainer club. I've done a sign out, and when trying to log in again it just keeps spinning until it tells me it's unable to log in.

Caught this feller last night, thought it had despawned when it disappeared from the radar, but backtracking solved that issue and I cornered it in a parking lot. New round of evolutions, Gengar turned out to be subpar but he's cool enough to keep until something better comes around. Finally got a Vileplume with double grass moves, it ain't no Solarbeam but I find Petal Blizzard to have adequate damage output and sometimes comes more in handy since you don't have to wait for a full bar to use it.

Suppose I should be thankful for getting two Vapes randomly, although somewhat comical that all three I currently have are of the Water Pulse variant, guess I have prime picks for gym defenders. The Jolteons are way weaker but both of them got Thunder, so they get to stay.
