It's like Mario at this point. It's such a fucking iconic thing that it would never be allowed to 'die out', rather if Nintendo died, and the Pokemon IP was left hanging, some other large company would buy it's rights and keep content churning out. It's worth too much now to ever let go, just like Micky is to Disney, and how they forever keep Micky content coming out.

It won't end:) Pokemon is basically more popular than Mario right now. All the mainline games are good and they sell well. Masuda even said he wants it to continue forever
