Fact: The only reason people played the Battle Frontier was to get BP to purchase ridiculously overpriced TMs and Tutor Moves.

Now that TMs have unlimited uses, and tutors take Shards, the Battle Frontier serves no purpose. The only thing you need BP to purchase now are items, thus it was streamlined into the Battle Maison.

Fact: most modern games have either a boss rush mode or extra mode, and the closest thing in Pokemon is the Battle Tower/Subway/Maison, which have been the same since 2001 and their streak-based system prevents people to fully enjoy it because one lose means start from 0.

At least the Frontier's facilities made the "extra mode" more fun.
