Its kinda disappointing this is the second gen in a row Ash didn't bring back any older pokemon, not counting Charizard.

The end of DP is really the last time we saw any of those old pokemon, and now Ash's Sinnoh team itself is two gens old. Are the writers really never going to have Ash use his old pokemon again? Both BW and XY now excluded them.

Don't worry, I'd likely think that Ash makes this realization why he lost to Alain. Because no one can argue against fielding a Charizard, Sceptile and Infernape to go with Pikachu Greninja and Noivern to beat a league.

Its like Ash alternates between thinking he should only use his regional team for a league like in Hoenn, Unova and Kalos...to deciding to use all his pokemon like in Johto and Sinnoh.

Of course in Kalos it didn't matter because we only saw Ash in two battles. But if Kalos actually had a proper league, it would have been nice to see old pokemon.

So any guesses on the major announcement? Seems a bit early to show off the sun/moon anime and movie shit usually doesn't happen till December.

The thing that really bugs me about the series is that Ash is constantly dumping all of his pokemon with Oak/regional Professor and completely forgetting they ever existed. I remember the first time I saw the episode in which he let go of Pigeot the the front fucking door of the League and thinking about when he'd come back to pick it up. It wasn't until I was like 14 or 15 years old and realised that he'd never do so.

And they give us all these Karen-fag speeches about having a true bond with your pokemon, but he never keeps up with that bond. I mean, odds are he's going to dump Greninja on Sycamore for "special training" just like he did with Charizard, thus completely negating all that special MC Mega Evolution stuff. Moreover, it's pretty clear that Game Freak is moving away from the Mega Evos with Sun/Moon, so there's next to no chance he's keeping Greninja.

I mean, he's been collecting pokemon for the past 20 years and consistently letting them go. There's been nearly 1000 episodes, and at least 2-3 years past just with day/night cycles in the anime and he's still 10 years old. I get that they have to keep the series alive and can't switch MCs every season, but this is just stupid now. They better give us an episode or movie or some shit at the very end of the show's life where he goes back and picks up all these guys and returns to Pallet. Make it his 11th birthday for god's sake. I could live with that.

Fuck, man. I don't know. I'm just frustrated with how he treats his pokemon. How he actually treats them is the opposite of all this love and friendship bullshit he's always spouting.

I know, I know. It's a kid's show. It's just a pain to see it stagnated like this after so long. At least give him a fucking League title.

I just remembered another thing that bothered me a bit, but not so much.

At least in the XY series, Ash isn't asking stupid questions anymore. They've left that up to Serena and Bonnie. That being said, Ash, who should be answering his questions with 20 years of experience, doesn't ever pipe in and let's Clemont explain. Moreover, he isn't ever too surprised by new pokemon either. He just knows their names and whips out his pokedex. I'd go fucking nuts if didn't know what a Treecko was when Shota first came onto the scene.

And the fact that they didn't even nod at the fact that Steven, the Hoenn Champ, and Ash have met before. They just completely ignore each other. And why the fuck is Steve there anyway? Kind of far for him to have traveled just to dip in on the Lysandre problem. At least Shota has a reason to be in Kalos - the same reason as Ash.

Fuck. I'm done venting. This show is frustrating.

My halfling only spoke not-Spanish and had a craving for cocaine and beer. Unfortunately, no one in the party spoke Spanish in-game or in real life, so there wasn't a lot of character interaction. It annoyed the shit out of them and kind of ruined the illusion of the game, but whatever. If Eric - the power gamer of the group - can run around playing an Armadillo man with an iq of 65, I can play a Spanish speaking halfing luchadore.

Squirtle and Bulbasaur don't want to evolve though, that's what makes them incredible. Despite not evolving they are still powerhouses in their own right. If they wanted to evolve they could, just like Pikachu, they just chose not to.

Gible, Quilava, Totodile, Bayleef, Buizel, and Snivy could really benefit from evolving.

Gible and Quilava would be powerhouses, Totodile could benefit from getting a boost in strength, Bayleef may as well reach its final stage, and Buizel and Snivy would get major speed and strength increases.

I'm really hoping Alola is like an extended Battle Frontier so we can see the old cast and get a few new evolution. It would be great building for Gen8 with the Alola Trials being a training arc before going on and winning his first League in Gen8. Because really I don't know how they can have Ash loses a League again after Kalos, the only placement he has left to reach is League winner.

That is true but outside of size Bulbasaur and arguably Squirtle won't lose speed like Pikachu would by becoming a Raichu, they can only gain from evolving and if they ever chose to evolve their power would fucking skyrocket, then imagine the pure power of Pikachu if it were to evolve?

I understand the reason why and i think they shouldn't evolve as it is part of their character but their power would be freaking absurd, i could argue that Bulbasaur and Squirtle if they fully evolved would be stronger then Charizard and could put up a fight against Champions

Let's face it, the only thing holding Ash back from winning the league and becoming a Champion is status quo, let his other Pokemon evolve to their last stage and he could arguably beat the Regional Champions then add in the possibility of Venusaur and Blastoise and its just blatant that Ash is capable of it.

When you think about it, Ash has everything, Champions and Elite Four have Mega Evolutions and Alola trainers will likely have Z-moves but Ash has Synchro, could easily use Mega Evolution if he got a keystone and ring and will most likely learn how to use Z-Moves in Alola, Ash could get everything while no one else is capable of Synchro and most trainers can't use Z-Moves

I'm just spitballing. He'll almost definitely get Z moves. I'm really curious to see who he'll have for it, though. I have no clue who Z moves are available for, so the only I know of is Snorlax's move since it was in the trailer. And I doubt he'll be bringing Snorlax back.

And as naive as it is for me to believe in the anime after the Kalos League, I can't help but put faith in them. Realistically it's going to be 6-8 years before the next Pokemon League since Alola doesn't have one, and that's a lot of time during which Rica gets quite a bit older and risks getting sick or god help us something happens to her.

I feel like the Kalos League had a unexpected outcome. For both the fans and staff. But now the staff know that they have a HUGE chance. Bigger then the Sinnoh or Kalos Leagues. Ash made it to the finals, he goes to Alola for a possible training arc, have Gen 8 be an even bigger wankfest that makes it clear that Ash will win the X League. Imagine the hype, the marketing. The chance to bring back old characters, old pokemon, and have a movie as the climax to the series where Ash wins.

The thing that could rake in the biggest bucks is the fact that they have Ashs first victory up their sleeves which they can drop at any time.

The thing about Bulbasaur and Squirtle evolviing is that they lose a LOT of speed. They'd have to be trained similar to Tiernos Blastoise and I believe it was Niehei's Venasaur from the Ninja Village. Ash's Pokemon work best when they're fast. And lets be honest if Squirtle or Bulbasaur got the final win against an E4's fully evolved mon that would be fucking rad, showing that you don't have to evolve to do something incredible. Similar to Yayakoma during its evolution episode.

From what i know there are generic Z-moves for different types like a generic Grass, Water and Fire Z-Move which are clearly intended for the Alola starters and there is also a Electric Z-Move which Pikachu is shown as using.

I think Geninja's Synchro would be considered a Mega since it's unique and has all of the factors of a Mega. That's assuming we're using game logic.

I think Infernape and Greninja are essentially the same pokemon when it comes down to fighting styles and whatnot, so it's a good pairing for Ash. He definitely leans towards the fast and furious, which makes Goodra an even stupider choice.

Anyway, those 4 alone could have swept Alan. He's got enough choices past those 4 power houses that would destroy any league. Particularly if he evolved the Gible.

Pikachus "Special Move" long before Z-Moves were a thing was Volt Tackle, I could see them giving it one Z-Move esq attack later on in SM. Thunderbolt and I'd say even more so Iron Tail is Pikachu's staple move. I remember in XY01 against Clemont that Clemont got shocked that it knew a Steel-Type move and loved that.

Iron Tail has also given Pikachu so many great moments.

I was only counting Pokemon that would have particular abilities, Charizard would get Mega over any other Pokemon, Pikachu getting a Z-Move is blatant, Infernape has Rapeape Mode and Greninja has synchro, Sceptile is one of his best Pokemon for sure but he doesn't have the same shit that the other four have and Charizard would absolutely be his Mega, maybe next gen Sceptile could have something particularly special?
