I think this kind of thing is telling of the lore of Pokemon.

They have the technology to make a tangible CG model that can MATE with living things and a robot with a soul/Pokemon DNA, so I wouldn't put it past them to have a genetically modified manmade legendary inb4mewtwo completely from scratch.

Plus we've seen Pokemon games talk about genocides, calamities, wars and the like that suggest something darker in nature for the Pokemon world lately. The only thing that would be bad about the Pokemon take on Chimeramon is if they didn't make a plot point about it.
