The problem is not with inanimate objects but with design itself. The snowman looks fine and like something that can exist. Vanilluxe is.. just a cone of ice cream. It is niether a clever desing or a cool one. It's just boring.

That's just my main problem with the design. If they would've made an icicle Pokémon, good. But they emphasized the Ice cream way too much for my taste.

That's only ever shown in the greater media of Pokemon.
For all intents and ingame purposes, it literally looks like ice cream on top of a blue ice cream cone. It doesn't look like a Pokemon that just so happens to look like ice cream - it didn't spawn when people started making ice cream (muk, voltorb, even the trash bags). That's why its so out of place.

Is the idea inherently bad - a Pokemon that just so happens to look strikingly like something man made but has absolutely nothing to do with it? That's up for debate. Maybe a cake Pokemon might have been able to pull it off better. But it would only work if they Pokemon either began to appear around cake factories made by humans or if the design could stand on its own.

The Vanilluxe line is a lazy eyesore that is actually even worse than the garbage line which has its own lore/point of origin.
