>Pokemon is literally made of sand
>doesn't get any bonuses in sandy weather
>mfw
hidden ability should be it gets some sort of stat increase each turn in sandy weather
>>28360726
Hey retard! The bonus is that it doesn't take residual damage! THINK. BEFORE. YOU. POST.
>>28360786
Its Hidden Ability should be Arena Trap. It'll be a hell of a lot more useful than its current one.
>Alolan Ground types
>One gets a new ability that increases it's defense whenever it's hit by something
>ANother gets a new ability that increases it's defense whenever it's hit by water only, and it's not even immune to it
GF, please, what are you doing
>>28360726
It might in the future.
>>28360820
But anon, it raises its Defense SHARPLY! That will surely be useful when it's getting hit by a type whose moves are predominantly Special.
If anything it should disperse.
>>28360820
Sand gets harder when wet. I figured that's where they were going with it.
>>28360893
Palossand might get a crazy high special defense though.
>>28360726
I haven't paid attention to whether or not it loses health when it gets hit. I thought it was kinda like sap sipper/lightning rod/etc. for water. Effectively a ground type with one less weakness.
>>28361068
it does. we should calc it's base special defense tho.
>>28360726
>sand castles standing up to sandstorms
>when sand castles have to stay slightly moist to no collapse easily
>and sandstorms happen because collapse of dry weather patterns
>>28361086
it's shown getting hit by razor shell from shellder, which means it's defense is somewhere around 55?
They could have at least had it half damage from Water moves. I really can't see it being all that useful.
>>28361291
it will surely get arena trap or shadow tag as an hidden ability
>>28360726
>Is a sandcastle
>Immune to fucking stomp
>>28361366
It's the ghost of a sandcastle.
>>28361366
>kid playing with a quiet palossand
>bully, thinking that the palossand is a normal sand castle, goes over and tries to stomp it to ruin the kid's day
>all this manages to accomplish is piss off the palossand
>>28361366
The Ghost part means it can reshape itself.
>>28360802
>current ability stops Scald entirely and gains +2 defence in the process
Yeah nah you're incorrect.
>>28361540
Sorry where did you get the idea that it stops Scald entirely? It still takes damage, then gets +2 Defense. Water Compaction doesn't give immunity
>>28361540
there is no evidence that it doesn't take damage from scald. it probably does take damage otherwise they would have said "absorbs water attacks to raise it's defense drastically" rather than "when it's hit by a water attack it's defense raises drastically.
>>28361643
in the most recent japanese trailer it literally shows it taking a water attack, taking damage, and then the defence boost activating. we know it's not immune to water attacks ala storm drain/water absorb
if it was, it'd actually be useful
>>28361710
it could still be useful if it got recover and has great special defense.
palossand is said to be able to rebuild itself so recover could be an option
There's also a held berry you could use to just get a SpDef boost as well when hit by a special attack. Switch him in on a Scald, and if he lives it with more than 40% health, he can take the next Scald before using a recovery move (or Rest if need be) and then be set to do whatever it does at +4/+1 defenses (more likely +2/+1 and a switching opponent). It's gimmick city but it might be a gimmick pokemon all the way down anyway.
>>28361036
This is most likely guaranteed. Then again, it's GF we're talking about.
>>28361710
Was the attack labeled super effective? I need to rewatch but I think it wasn't.
If it negates water weakness (eg: normal damage) then it's not SO bad.
>>28362471
I don't think it negates SE damage? It's in this video. https://youtu.be/YR1ssSZfoGY?t=176
What's confusing me a little is the absorb attack that goes off after Water Compaction activates? Is that just mega drain?
>>28362531
That definitely negates the SE hit. (There was no !! pop up. Just the ability trigger one.)
And yes. Pretty sure that's one of the drains.
>>28362700
Can't you hear the super effective sound thingy when it is hit? that was definitely a super effective hit that did super effective damage.
>>28360865
>550 pound sandcastle
damn
>>28360726
Honestly, if anything, it's fault of the weather, so useless.
>>28364404
Pikachu souls are heavy.
>>28360865
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA a fucking sand castle as a Pokemon hahahahaha
>>28360726
You don't seem familiar with erosion, while same can be said about some Rock types a fucking sand castle isn't exactly something that can support such stress. Just get over this shitmon, at least it has an immunity to sandstorm.
>>28361710
>>28361772
holy shit
how can someone be so in denial about this shitty contrarian fav sandcastle garbage?
it's gonna be shit unless arena trap, just look at golurk, and consider than golurk at least can boost speed and has "boosting" attack abilities and "offensive pressure"
>>28361036
Yeah, no enjoy your burn and guaranteed 40% damage from uninvested Scald then.
>>28360726
>human is literally made of flesh
>doesnt get any bonuses in fleshy weather
How would you feel OP if you were suddenly surrounded by a flurry of skin and blood? Because I doubt you'd feel stronger.
